Yearning to be taken for a serious actress, an atheist comedienne named Kathryn Bateman is mistaken for a Christian and put behind bars. In jail she meets her match in an unrelenting Watch Commander (picture a female version of Javert in Les Mis), who will stop at nothing to make sure Kathryn pays for the crime with her life. When Kathryn’s true identity is revealed and she is nearly released, incriminating evidence turns up in her apartment, forcing her to face her true enemy as the clock ticks toward her fast-approaching execution.
No Sunlight began life as a stage play in 2003. Critics called it, “A timely tale … at times hilarious and heartwarming, at times haunting and heartbreaking,” as well as, “An imaginatively written exploration of stubbornness and surrender, and a forsaking that leads to freedom.”
The story is even more timely today than when the play debuted. I can’t describe the sense of urgency to get it done and delivered. We shot the film in 2014 and edited it all throughout 2015. All that remains is the Sound Edit & Mix and Color Correction.
Goal: $3000. Deadline: 28 days.

Risks and challenges
It’s been an uphill climb – as you know, there's no studio or big-money guys involved. But what I do have is an immensely gifted and passionate cast, a loving and supportive fan base (ahem, that’s YOU), a fearless producer in Lisa Boore Lambert, and a faithful and powerful God.
