Compare Scotland and the Baltic, and you might for a moment be at a loss to identify any similarities at all. And on paper, there aren't that many. The commonalities of the two countries lie not in the facts and figures of population numbers, height above sea level, Gross Domestic Product, the ratio of men to women, or the popularity of television reality shows. But what Scotland and the Baltic do share is an underlying essence of honesty, hard work, and moral values that make justice a matter of common sense and not statutes created by backroom pencil pushers.
Baltic Time, the lovechild of a man who has tasted, lived, and indeed still lives this very essence is proof that when combined, even nations as far apart as Scotland and his homeland can come together to create something very special. Baltic Time is back with a brand new offering that smacks of the flair and heritage of two nations renowned for their ingenuity, resourcefulness, and a genius penchant for design.
The new Prestige watch comes with an automatic ETA 2824-2 movement and more Swiss prestige you could ever hope to find at the price, and again reveals the inherent passion of Baltic Times' founder, Robertas Adomaitis, the Lithuanian-born, now Scottish resident.
The all stainless steel watch with the attractive dial which reflects light from different angles into different shades of blue along with the comfortable, vintage-look crown speaks volumes for the love of design and horology that wafts through this campaign like a bracing, refreshing breeze off the Baltic coast.
Robertas current offering, the Baltic Time Prestige, requires no new adjectives. The descriptors elegant, classic, and high quality apply just as much to this latest gem as they did to the first. Perhaps even more so. On the spec side, the balance of this new offering from Baltic Time runs at 28.800 bph, (4 Hz), has 25 jewelled bearings and is regulated by ETA's own Etachron system.
The case has a pleasing 40 mm diameter, is 10.5 mm thick, and is 20 mm from lug to lug. The all stainless steel watch has an engraved crown, buckle and back. The face is protected by Sapphire glass, and an automatic movement lies at its heart.

To say that it's the design of Robertas' watches that makes them stand apart from other wearable timepieces in the same price range would be akin to taking the easy way out. After all, what does 'design' really mean? If it's the look and feel of a product, then the models from Baltic Time achieve everything a good product could ever aspire to.
But rather than talk about the feel of Baltic Time prestige piece it might be more appropriate to talk about how the piece 'makes one feel' when they wear it. This is what makes watches from Robertas different. Baltic Time may not have the publicly conceived omnipotent presence of say, a Rolex or a Citizen. But then, it doesn't have to. Not everyone will love a watch from Baltic Time, anyway. But as he has already explained, Robertas Adomaitis is not out to topple Rolex. All he wants is for people to share his appreciation of the Baltic/Scottish inspiration that led to the creation of his watches. And hopefully, buy them too. Baltic Time's campaign is a real opportunity for watch lovers who missed out on Robertas' Indiegogo campaign. What better way can there be to declare your passion for horology than by supporting someone whose product is linked so closely to his multi-cultural roots and whose passion for elegant, well-designed timepieces are both a practical and personal guarantee for the quality of his products.
