Thank you all for the amazing support so far! We were funded in a matter of 4 days and we have already started game development! We want the game to be played by everyone! We want you to be able to discover all the worlds that we are going to create, so that is why we want to give you our game for FREE!

Hey Kickstarter, thank you for checking out our project. Just you reading this means a lot to us. We've spent the last few months working on a project that we'd like to present to you now, it's called Pota-Toss.

Who are we?
There's two of us working on this crazy idea. We live in Alajuela, Costa Rica, we've know each other since Kindergarden and we went to Elementary and High School together.
Jose 'Caya' Cayasso is currently a 3D Animation Student in Universidad Veritas and is the guy in charge of the look and graphic design of the game. He co-created a 3D short film called Loopio, which was very well received. Some of his work can be found here: www.saborstudio.net
Phillipe Casorla Sagot is an advanced multi-paradigm programmer who is
mostly in love with object oriented languages. He is the guy in charge
of all the programming stuff! He got a Computer Science degree from
ITCR and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Security and Mobile
There are two main concepts behind the game: Multiplayer and Uniqueness. You can find truly thousands of games out there, and for our idea to shine we not only had to make it cool, we had to make something never seen before!
We have a concept that's simple, easy to use, but still looks great, AND that it allows you to challenge your friends face to face, not just a silly (or overpowered) machine. In PotaToss, you can share your iPod, on the bus or on that boring history class! Or, if you have an Internet connection, you can game online, against a friend or stranger, anywhere in the world.
That's what led us to our second concept, the location based content. We are going to design hundreds of levels based on the geography and landscapes of each country in the world, and that is, we believe, what makes our game truly unique.
Guess where that is?
We are going to take advantage of the GPS in your iPhone, and use it to find out where you are. Your half of the level will be based on that, so if you are playing in Antartica, you'll get nothing but ice, while your buddy in Hawaii will show up on a beautiful volcanic tropical beach.
All the levels are interchangeable, so every left-level will match every right-level, thus allowing us to combine any pair of players wanting to play online.
Yellowstone vs Kansas!
Just drag your finger to toss your potato. Your finger swipe will give speed and direction to your throw. Obstacles? Of course! Mountains, trees, rocks, wind! Every level is different!
Players will take turns to attempt to hit their opponents. Every time there's a hit, that player will get a point and the game level will be re-generated so that players get a whole new challenge. Remember, we are going to design hundreds of different levels!
We expect around 200-250 different levels at launch, and we'll be updating the game with new levels every month.
Pota-To Power-Ups for the Game will be in-app purchases!
Not a problem (for us), but you're gonna have to face some hordes of these darn ugly Spuds, before they spoil your cute Pota-Toes!
Rotten Spuds will try to spoil your plantation! Stop them before they reach it!
So why do we need your help!? Well, We got a bunch of bills to pay, including,
- legal stuff
- software licences
- iOS programming requires a Mac, and we are missing one of those
- testing devices
- App Store licences
- man-power, to help speed up the programming and the design
Our minimum budget allows us to complete the game. However, the greater the amount we are able to raise, the bigger the amount of people we'll be able to hire; which means more levels, and an earlier release date.
Another very important thing, is that Kickstarter will not charge your credit card unless we are able to raise the minimum amount of money required. Any donations will be reverted if we don't reach our goal. We hope that's not the case!
