This lens cap holder allows you to securely attach your camera's lens cap to your neck strap or camera bag.
Thank you for checking out my project! If you own a SLR or DSLR camera this is something you have wanted. How may lens caps have you lost? My patent pending lens cap holder allows you to securely attach a camera's lens cap to your neck strap or camera bag.
Click the green button to the right if you're interested in funding this project, and you'll be guided through the simple process.
What is the camera lens cap holder?
The holder is a simple part that has a circular recess which allows a lens cap to be attached with a friction fit, in the same fashion as attaching the cap to the lens. Just press the release mechanism already in your lens cap and engage or disengage with the lens cap holder. The holder includes a buckle for attachment to the camera's neck strap. The design does not require any modification to the camera or lens cap.
I have already spent 9 months and 4 prototypes to perfect the design. I have been testing the final design for 3 months now and love it.
Initially there will be ten lens cap sizes:
52mm, 55mm, 72mm & 77mm for Nikon, Pentax, Fujifilm, Sony, Pro-series and vintage lenses
46mm, 58mm & 67mm for M4/3, Cannon and Nikon lenses
40.5mm, 49mm & 62mm for M4/3, Olympus and vintage lenses
Each cap holder can hold three or four different lens cap sizes. One side holds two sizes, the opposite side holds up to two other sizes. When threaded onto a neck strap, only one size may be used at a time.
Please look at your lens to determine the correct size before pledging.
What are you using the money for?
Achieving my $3900 goal will help pay for plastic molds required to make the lens cap holders. That is enough for me to get this business off the ground and move it forward.
Where is the lens cap holder being made?
The molds and parts will be made in the United States by Protomold injection molding service. Protomold uses automated manufacturing systems to provide short-run production parts at a reasonable time and cost. By teaming with Protomold, I can rapidly translate my CAD designs into quality parts for you.
If the reserve is met, when do you think I'll receive it?
I'm hoping to be able to ship units about one month after the kickstarter reserve has been met.
What is Belleks?
Belleks LLC is the company that I started under which I sell an innovative folding wagon that I invented. I plan to sell the lens cap holder through this company as well. My website is Cameracapholder.com, and it will be updated further as the kickstarter process continues. You may check out my folding wagon product line by visiting Belleks.com.
For this project I have focused on the two most popular sizes of lens caps, 52mm and 58mm. If I exceed my reserve by enough to purchase additional molds, I will. Please tell me what sizes you would like to see.
