GDC, PAX and A New Artist!
We're back again for some more Ultimate Chicken Horse updates, after coming back from a couple weeks of travel in San Francisco and Boston for GDC and PAX respectively.
GDC (the Game Developers Conference) takes place every spring(ish) in San Francisco, and it's an industry event where game devs meet, learn, drink, talk, eat, drink some more, and sleep a tiny bit.
This year, all four of us went to the conference and we had a great time. We met a bunch of cool devs, learned a lot, and discussed new game ideas as well. We were also nominated for an IGF (Independent Games Festival) award for Excellence in Design, which we didn't win but still had a fun time at the awards show:
Next up, we came home for a few days and hopped off again to PAX East (Penny Arcade Expo), which is a massive massive expo in Boston. I've heard that there were over 150,000 people throughout the three days of the show, so you can imagine we were busy.
The show was really fun and we got to meet a bunch of people who knew the game and approached us simply to tell us how much they loved it and played it at home. That's a pretty cool feeling :)
Remember when I said "all four of us" went to GDC? Well now we're five! Introducing the newest member of Clever Endeavour Games: Fabio Grisi. Fabio is an artist from Brazil who came here a few years ago, and blew us away with his video application:
He started this week, and will help us to add more content to Ultimate Chicken Horse as we work toward our console launch, as well as contribute to future game ideas and the creation of art for said games. You can also check out his music channel on YouTube here, he clearly has lots of talents!
That's all for this month folks, stay tuned!
