Sabotile: Isles of Hexoté is a competitive board game for 2-6 players, wrought with hidden information, tile placement, and evolving strategy.
Venture through the treacherous island jungle and bring back your tribe's totem - a sacred vessel housing the remaining spirit of your deity. But be warned: the other inhabitants will be vying for the same goal. Use deception, cunning, and strategy to outsmart your opponents!
Why you should support Sabotile
- 1.5 years of development ensures a tried and true gameplay experience.
- Variants of the game can breathe new life into it, including team play and a strategy version that removes the die.
- Modular boards can be customized for even more interesting configurations.
- The range of powers opens up possibilities for your play style in a game that is easy to learn but difficult to master.
Out of the box, you will receive (at least) one sitting's worth of quality time exploring, planning, and sabotaging your fellow players. Next moves will be foiled and long con could be what wins you the game!

Should we surpass our initial funding goal, we have these upgrades to be included in every box:
On the island of Hexoté, the indigenous tribes of the six deities who brought life to the land had lived in relative harmony; though outbursts had occasionally broken out, these gods have always been able to quell strife among the tribes by rearranging the lay of the land. That is until Mesba, the seventh god, scornful of his brothers and sisters, ransacked the villages of each tribe and seized the sacred totems housing their spirits. With distrust rising increasingly throughout the island, you must be the first tribe chieftain to bring back your ancient artifact from the center temple and restore order on Hexoté.

A note about the EU: We have talked with an international distributor to minimize shipping costs within the European Union. Because we will not be using a pledge manager, we would really appreciate all address information to be accurate in the survey to be sent out after the campaign. No fear, we will also send gentle reminders to all backers during the production process to be cover all bases.
As seen in Update #6:
Manufacturing without the double layer board was looking to be in the ballpark of $18,000. With 12% going to Kickstarter and other costs ($6000), that leaves $26,000 for shipping - ocean freight, from the port to the warehouse, and then ground shipping to you!
Now, that is an unbelievable amount extra; we were erring on the side of caution, having read that shipping is the cost that would sneak up and get us. After a couple calculations, we believe that domestic ground shipping would come out to $8000 and international (with half the number of backers) around 1.5x, or $12,000. That leaves $6000 leftover that we could keep for ourselves or put back into the product, and the latter is what we want to do so you can take home a fuller experience of Sabotile: Isles of Hexoté.
All of these numbers are speculative estimates, we have done our homework researching and talking with manufacturers, but nothing speaks truer than experience. And we will have it if we see this campaign to the end. We understand if you may feel upset but hope you can appreciate the decisions that we have made for you.
:EDIT: ~65% of funding will go to manufacturing, ~12% to Kickstarter and other costs, and the remaining ~23% to all shipping.
We agree, $50,000 is a pretty (and hefty) penny. ~53% of that amount will go to the cost of manufacturing such an awesome product. ~10% will be relayed back to Kickstarter, ~2% to our videographer, and the remaining ~35% will account for freight, taxes, storage, and shipping. Your contribution will bring us closer to reaching the stars and fulfilling our dream. Should you consider pledging $1 (or more!), we will at the very least update you on our progress - and record push-ups - in return. If you know anyone who is or may be interested in a game of sabotage and pitting wits against each other, we would be grateful for you to direct him or her here!
Grizzly Forged Studios found its beginnings at the CUDO Plays local board game competition in the fall of 2015. Sabotile came from a simple mechanic and theme literally picked out of a hat; half a year's time of development later, the team came out with lasting friendships in the industry and a product they were proud to call their own.
We are hopefuls who, like so many others, would love to turn our passion into a career. With degrees in design, we do not want to just create something that will become obsolete in five years but instead an experience that can be revisited over generations. By bringing people together for an hour's time of purposeful engagement and interaction, we hope to leave our playful mark on the world as families and friends venture into new ones, making memories and growing closer.
In the past several months, we have seen many projects that might not get a second look in the big name industry come to fruition through online crowdfunding. We absolutely love that independents can come up with truly amazing concepts and products and share them with the world but are completely blown away by the community that is fostered by people on an international scale in a shared passion to see these ideas become reality, bring to life.
We have chosen to move forward with Kickstarter because we feel it is the best way for us to personally engage the world and give back; all of us have received so many awesome things through this online crowdfunding platform, physical and emotional, that we figured sharing our own passion with others here would be a good place to start.
We believe in community and rallying behind others, as well as sabotage (in the game space), and know that others do too. We want to hear from everyone to make something great for everyone, and Kickstarter has shown time and again that achieving that goal is possible here.
Risks and challenges
This is our first Kickstarter project ever and we have found out the hard way that there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to even make it to launch. However, we know that the Kickstarter community is incredibly supportive and we want to make you proud; you have our promise that we will work our hardest to make this as enjoyable an experience for you as we can.
Backing this project means your hand in helping bring the best version of Sabotile: Isles of Hexoté to the world when, until this point, it would have only existed as a handful of copies in our living rooms. More importantly, you are putting your trust in us, a thing we will not take for granted.
As seen in the history of Kickstarter, projects fail and projects succeed. For us, making it this far and meeting so many people along the way has already counted as a win in our books, but to say we pulled off a fully-funded campaign would be the story of a lifetime. But while reaching the goal does count for a success, it does not make up all of it, and we aim to get you your pledged reward by the expected delivery date. Though some uncontrollable events may come to light such as production and shipping delays, we will notify you as soon as we are told and resolve any issues as quickly as we can.
We do hope you understand that December is a projected time and will forgive us if our fulfillment takes longer than expected. We specifically chose March for our launch so that come campaign end the manufacturing and shipping (difficulties withstanding) would precede the [hectic] holiday season. Of course, in that time we will be sharing updates and trying to resume regular daily lives by talking with you.
Please feel free to leave any comments, questions, or concerns in the Comments section and someone affiliated with Grizzly Forged Studios will reply to you within two business days. Nice notes and helpful advice are always appreciated too. :)
It would be amazing to print off a successful first run of Sabotile: Isles of Hexoté and we can see it to the end together. Truly, thank you for stopping by our page and we hope to see you soon!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
