Well, hi there!
My name's Beth. Some call me Bethany. For those of you who are new to me, here's a little background:
I was a CCM recording artist (Bethany Dillon) for seven years and then took a hiatus after getting married and becoming a mommy. Now, nearly eight years, three kids, and no record label later, I'm heading into the studio again!
It's been quite a journey, I've gotta tell ya. In the waiting, redefining, and prayer that's led to this point, God has been mightily at work. After being a full-time touring and recording artist throughout my teenage years, I was elated at 20 years old to have the gift and opportunity to be at home full time with my hubby (Shane Barnard of Shane & Shane) and our growing family. (I'm naturally an introverted-homebody, so along with the new adventures of learning how to do this marriage/parenting thing, I was, and am, so thankful for the years of focusing solely on that.)
I made a four song EP entitled "To Those Who Wait" back in 2012 while I was a new mommy to our firstborn, Lucy. Shane and I made time in the studio for it simply because I had songs I wanted to share! I still am so encouraged to see how the Lord has used those songs in people's lives (you can check it out here: https://itun.es/us/7I3DE)
Much, and little, has changed since the release day of "To Those Who Wait".
I'm now a mommy to three beautiful daughters: Lucy (6 years old), Haven (4 years old), and Ruby (1 1/2 years old).
I love singing and writing and leading worship with greater freedom, and more than ever before.
I have way less TIME to sing, write, or lead worship -- let alone record! -- because of the season of life I'm in.
What's the same:
I love Jesus and am passionate about pointing to Him and telling the story of what He's done in me through song.
So, here we are - wanting to head into the studio this fall to record some of the songs He's given these last five to ten years, and my desire is that it would fan into flame affections for Jesus in the hearts of those at work, in their car, on a run, at home with the kids, or weeping late at night in your room.
I'm praying for this project in its entirety, and it being funded is a huge request I have! Please help make this record happen!
PS We wanted to give you a sneak peak at one of the songs that will be on the record! My husband Shane and I wrote it together this past year about the reality of covenant within, and as a banner over, marriage. Feel free to share it!
Risks and challenges
If this project isn't funded, it doesn't happen! Which would be sad, because I've already started lining up babysitting for the studio days...Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
