Asylopole is a satirical old-school adventure game set in a dystopian future.
You play the role of Adam Murdock, a psychiatrist working in a gigantic asylum. Get inside your patients’ heads to find out what’s gone wrong. Experience totally new universes and fight your patients’ worst nightmares...
This is basically a one-man project, with a few commissions.

The game takes place in a post apocalyptic future where it’s a daily struggle for the population just to stay sane.
Under the huge dome that covers the megalopolis and all its inhabitants, you play the role of Adam Murdock, a psychiatrist working in an insane asylum, a gigantic building that supports the center of the dome.
When treating patients, you are able to access their inner most thoughts and help fight the phobias and other mental problems that exist in a virtual world that’s known as Mentalis.
Each "universe" has a new gameplay with some puzzles, a unique visual (draw, stop-motion / clay animation sequences,...) and a boss to defeat.
And, as if that wasn't enough, you have to deal with "The Order", which controls the megalopolis and Ratpunks, a group of punks who are against "The Order" ...
The game feels like a 90s adventure, with nice features, colourful world, mature themes, humour and strange characters. Explore the megalopolis, the asylum and various locations, and complete quests.
You are able to interact with almost anything in the world, grab and use items, solve puzzles and speak with characters (your answers may affect your relationship with your partner).
Many activities are available ! If you want, you can play mini-games, visit some shops and restaurants (Fastbouf), send messages, surf the "Ultranet" and even read many comments on the social network "Lookme".
The game will be available in English and French. Other languages may be possible depending on the amount raised through the campaign.

My name is Mickaël and I love video games, especially old adventure games. I started programming little games for my own family, 15 years ago. Few years later, I wrote the word "Asylopole" on a paper and the story begins ! On this project, I've been doing almost everything (story, writing dialogs, art, music,...).

PC Windows. However, we will make a lot of efforts to have the game available on as many platforms as people will want it on, in the future (Linux and Mac OSX).
Will Asylopole be on Steam?
Yes (the game has been greenlit by the community).

Yeah ! We want to give everyone the option between Steam and a DRM-free version.

Risks and challenges
I've already spent most of my spare time into developing Asylopole. The story, a lot of the graphics assets and musics are already done for the game. But game development is complex, expensive and takes time; problems can arise throughout development.
However Asylopole is a project that I'm highly invested in on a personal level. With your support, I can polish and complete the project and provide you the great game you deserve.
