Once again we would like to thank you very much for contributing to our TransJourney documentary film project. Your support for our film project has definitely made a difference, enabling us to move forward with the film. We have made some excellent progress since I last posted. We hired an editor, Shawn Quirk, who is the Program Director of the Rhode Island International Film Festival. Shawn is presently enrolled at Lesley College (Boston) working on his M.F.A. in Digital Media. He’s quite enthusiastic about the film and also a talented editor. We now have a trailer up on You Tube and I encourage you take a look at it if you haven’t done so already. You can find it on You Tube at the following link: Presently we are working on the rough-cut of the film (the first cut) and have a target date for delivering the film to our Boston post- production house in early April. We hope to premiere the documentary either in May at Translations: Seattle’s Transgender Film Festival or at Los Angeles’s OUTFEST in July, depending when the film is finally completed. It’s been an exciting journey for us, and thanks again for your support of the film. As you probably know, Shifting Visions is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) company and all donations are tax deductible. Your contribution means a great deal to Shifting Visions as we rely on grants, film sales/rentals from documentaries produced by our film company, and sponsors like you to help offset our production and post-production costs. Unless you indicated a wish to remain anonymous, in gratitude of your support of our film project, your name will be included in our film’s credits. We are currently in the final stage of fundraising for TransJourney. Our total budget for TransJourney is a little over $93,000. We’ve managed to cover just about half of it ($48,178) through in-kind donations. We’ve raised another $22,528 through crowdfunding, grants, and private donations. We need another $22,000 to cover post-production, film festival and distribution costs. We continue to apply for grants; however, the field is very competitive. One way you can help is to share our film trailer link with your family and friends and encourage them to support our film by donating to TransJourney through our Shifting Visions Films website: Stay up to date on TransJourney by visiting our Facebook page at You can also follow us on Twitter at

We're Filming TransJourney in Seattle!!

We've been really busy since arriving in Seattle on August 5th to film TransJourney.  The crew have been logging 10-hour days working on the film.  We left RI on Thursday, August 1st and barely got out of the State when we blew one of Sandie's brand new tires on her minivan that we used to drive across country!  That set us back 6 hours on our schedule.  We originally left at 9 a.m., already an hour behind schedule; then once the tire blew out we had to first wait for road service to change to our spare; then we had to drive back to where Sandie bought the tires to get it replaced; and, of course, when we got there, they discovered the wrong tire was sent over, so yet again another wait!  BUT we finally made it to Seattle!  Each day had its own challenge to face; but we made it through with everyone still liking one another!  So far filming has been fabulous; so, once again, I want to thank all of you who believed in this film and so generously supported us with your donations!  Once we get back to Rhode Island, we'll begin fulfilling those perks still outstanding to our donors.  You can keep up to date with what we are doing by following us on Facebook at or follow us on Twitter @TransJourney1.  We also have a TransJourney blog on Blogger.

Departure Day Will Soon Be Upon Us!

Yes, it's hard to believe that we will soon be departing RI to film TransJourney!  We couldn't have done it without your help!  We are busy making final travel arrangements, gathering the necessary equipment for our film, and, yes, still fundraising.  The excitement is definitely building.

To those of you who are still awaiting your perks, we anticipate getting them to you once we return from filming in Seattle.  We thank you so very much for your patience and understanding while we had to postpone this venture for a year.

We greatly appreciate your support and love you all for believing in us!  Thank you!
