Brighton Ballet Theater at the BAM Fisher Theater
Please support our production of Tchaikovsky's "Children's Album" in our inaugural season at the BAM Fisher Theater!
This year Brighton Ballet Theater (BBT), a participant in the highly competitive BAM Professional Development Program (PDP), was selected to premier an original production of Tchaikovsky's "Children's Album" at the innovative new Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Fisher Theater on June 23rd, 2013, at 2:00 and 7:30 PM. It's a story about the power of love and kindness that makes wishes come true! We are honored to participate in this innovative program and excited to offer this inspiring opportunity to our talented students!
BAM PDP is designed to promote the work of Brooklyn's best arts organizations. Brighton Ballet was among only 6 arts organizations chosen and of the 6 the only one showcasing the work of children.
BBT specializes in producing educational, affordable and unique productions that benefit children and their families. Children who perform on stage set a good example for children watching in the audience. Through its educational performances BBT instills values, love for the arts, nature and people. In addition, BBTs performances teach tolerance to all ethnicities and inspire children to have dreams and goals in life. For its unique performances BBT was awarded the "Neighborhood Achievement Award" by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2005 and is continuing to surprise its audiences throughout New York City today.
"Children's Album" is an original ballet choreographed by Brighton Ballet's renowned choreographer Edouard Kouchnarev. This groundbreaking work is inspired by and dedicated to orphaned and adopted children all over the world and is the first ballet staged to Tchaikovsky's "Children's Album," the very first musical piece students study when exploring the world of classical music. It also marks first time when the 24 pieces of Tchaikovsky's "Children's Album" will be presented in one performance!
Brighton Ballet Theater is committed to providing the very best Russian ballet technique to a diverse group of enthusiastic and gifted students. Under the skilled guidance of its teachers and its renowned choreographer Edouard Kouchnarev, our children are taught the coordination, musical skills, and discipline needed to pursue a career in dance. All of the students participating in our BAM Fisher performances are on scholarships and given the unique opportunity to learn original choreography, wear costumes designed specifically for them, as well as, dance alongside professional dancers on the stage of a world famous New York City cultural institution. This type of performance experience is crucial to a student’s artistic development and we are excited to provide this valued opportunity.
Production components including rehearsals, costumes and technical needs, are a huge expense for a non-profit school such as ours and we are asking for your support today. Any gift you provide will directly support this production and ensure that our students have the tools necessary to make these performances the artistic triumph they deserve.
BBT and the "Children's Album" participants sincerely thank you for your support and hope to see you and thank you in person at our BAM Fisher performances on June 23rd! By working together we can provide our students with the very best training and opportunities to grow into technically and artistically accomplished dancers. Thank you for your support!

Risks and challenges
The stage has been reserved for us so the only obstacle is the cost of the production. With the help of donors like you, we can ensure that our students and the audience will experience a world-class performance. The unfortunate reality is that everything from the floor required for the safety of our dancers, to the cost of lighting gels and stage hands is a massive expense. Every gift will help to pay for an additional aspect of the production and ensure that our students are presented in the most professional and accomplished manner.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
