Growing up in the streets of Los Angeles I've seen many things in my life. Some how I've always extracted the best energy from my surroundings to be self inspired. I've always been a warm hearted person wanting to explore my city and the people in it to know their lives to know where they came from. As an artist, I focus my work on beauty and simplicity of people and their everyday lives.
I have always dreamed of being able to present my art on the street so that people who would never go to an art exhibit, museum, or gallery can still embellish in the arts. Art should be appreciated for what it is, not chosen. With that, I present myself to everybody instead of being the type of artist who has to conform to the systematic ways of being selected into galleries. I choose to keep it street. That's who I am and what I know. I have been able to make this dream into a reality and stay true to person I am and the people I represent with my work.
With this project, I have been blessed with a wonderful opportunity to showcase my photography in my first ever exhibit. The exhibit will be presented on the street and in the gallery. The project is called "The Black Wall Project" which will include a series of portraits that I have taken at skid row and the surrounding community. The funds will be used towards materials needed for the installation of the exhibit including: materials for mounting, hanging, displays, proper framing and high quality prints.
Thank you for your blessings
The images for the promise packages will be posted a week before the show so you have the option to choose.
