Welcome to the [dis]ABLE Kickstarter page! Just know, with every pledge of $5 or more, included with it is a wristband, sticker, and a shout out on social media!
[dis]ABLE is a clothing line I created to help fulfill my life goal of combating the misconceptions associated with those with a disability.
EVERYONE, whether in a chair or not, has limitations... and EVERYONE has the power within to [dis]ABLE those limits. I want people of all backgrounds to wear my shirt like a cape, reminding them that anything is possible!
I am looking to you to help kickstart the brand's clear objectives into motion. The first thing I will do when we meet the our goal is to get each backer their quality product as quickly as possible. Our funding goal will allow [dis]ABLE to offer each backer a variety of color and size options (from youth to adult) so that you each can get exactly what you want- while helping us keep our prices in check as we expand.
After fulfilling the pledges, the left over funds will go towards improving the [dis]ABLE website, events, and other venues that will help expand the brand and it's message. The feedback from the blog has been tremendous, and I want to make the website a more interactive platform where people can post, inspire, and encourage one another to not be defined by any limitation placed on them. I have a completed children's book that needs illustration and production, and also ideas for short films and short stories that resonate with the brand's mission. Before and during our Kickstater campaign, [dis]ABLE started sponsoring and attending different events for different charities and non-profits, and plan to use the funds to help pursue that avenue as well.
Making a pledge will help grow [dis]ABLE into a lifestyle brand that can inspire people in many different areas. Furthermore, a portion of our business is dedicated to funding SMA research. You are not just buying apparel... you are buying into a mindset and a lifestyle, and joining a movement to change the perception of those with a disability!

Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge that comes with this project is brand awareness. I want people to know what the brand stands for, and to embrace our message as something that applies to them.
I created a blog at disablethebrand.com and use social media to tackle this challenge, but I want to make sure that with every purchase, I give you something that makes you remember everyday that you can [dis]ABLE your limits!
