In August 2014, Firebringer Press released a speculative fiction anthology called SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF ETERNITY.
This collection showcased the redoubtable storytelling talents of burgeoning fiction writers such as Daniel Patrick Corcoran, Michael Critzer, Amanda Headlee, Susanna Reilly, Stuart Roth, and Lance Woods. The collection also featured stories from award-winning writer Steven H. Wilson, founder of Firebringer Press, and Phil Giunta, who proudly served as editor.
SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF ETERNITY was so well-received by readers that we’ve set out to publish another volume called ELSEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF ETERNITY. Many of the aforementioned writers have returned along with two new voices, Melissa Carta Miller and April Welles. We’re also thrilled to have the return of incredible painter and sketch artist, Michael Riehl, to create not only another gorgeous cover, but fabulous interior illustrations for each story.
In this latest collection, you’ll encounter everything from androids and clones to elementals and warlocks, from selkies and golems to starships and superheroes. You’ll visit a dystopian future where the wealthy reside on trains for their own safety, encounter an ancient artifact that can regenerate severed limbs, and a shape-shifting bacteria with the potential to threaten the galaxy.
Funds will be used to compensate the artist and the authors at a semi-professional word rate. We hope you’ll take the time to browse the various contribution levels we’re offering and consider supporting our publication. We appreciate your help as we continue to introduce brilliant new voices into speculative fiction. Thank you for checking out ELSEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF ETERNITY!
Risks and challenges
The risks are very low. This will be the ninth book published by Firebringer Press, so we know the game. All the stories are complete, and the book is currently in final editing, in preparation for layout, proofing and publication. Cover and interior artwork is in progress by Mike Riehl, who delivered on time for our previous anthology, so we have no worries there.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
