We’re entering the final stretch of our Kickstarter, and we’re happy to say we’ve already reached our goal. That being said, we can always use more help! Because many of you helped us reach our goal so quickly, and because so much time still remains in the campaign, we’re announcing a new ‘push’ goal of $5,000. Our original Kickstarter goal represents less than half of the total costs involved in producing a new album, and our plan has been to finance the rest through band income. By pledging funds surpassing our original goal, you can still pre-order 11 new tunes and secure great rewards like a private house concert. All the while, you’ll be offsetting the band’s investment, and giving us a leg up in our efforts to promote this music. Everyone wins! Consider pledging here today! Or, consider helping in other ways: spread the word via Facebook, and Twitter.

We are a band based out of San Diego, California dedicated to old American music from the 1920s and 30s.... we play everything from jug band and country blues tunes to mountain stringband music. We’re currently working on our second full-length album and we’re asking for your help to finance the final stages of production so we can share this music .
We’ve been together for 3 years, operating as a completely DIY Band. We do our own booking and publicity, and until now, we’ve financed our own projects with money that we saved from gigs.
Last year was a big year for us: We played 44 gigs and used the money we made to finance our debut album, and tour up the west coast. And this year we’ve been given amazing opportunities to play with grammy-winning roots music acts like Beausoleil and Del McCoury.
Since we recorded our first album, we’ve been evolving as a band - learning tons of new music and experimenting with new instrumentation. We’ve been honing our sound and we feel like its the right time to make our second album.
We’ve already recorded most of the music and paid for the studio space and engineering. Now we’re asking for the help of our fans, and our friends, and old-time music lovers to raise $3000 and finish this album. Money from this campaign will pay for the mixing and mastering of our recording session, and then the design and manufacturing of a package that we’ll be able to distribute online, at shows, and by mail to you.
To say thank you, and because we want to share this music, we’ll give any donation over $10 a download code for the new album before our album release show on the 4th of July at Black Cat Bar in San Diego. But we have plenty of other ways to say thanks for larger donations - like the full album package, personal music lessons, or private house concert performances.
Risks and challenges
The risks involved in this project are pretty minimal. The most challenging part of the process - recording great live performances of the music - is already completed. This funding will pay for the expertise of audio mixing and mastering engineers to make these performances sound as good as possible, and fund photographers and designers that will make the record look as good as possible.
