A game to help kids:
Become better spellers
Get better grades.
Get interested in reading.
Letter cards, uppercase and lowercase, and punctuation marks.
2 to 4 players.
Challenge yourself and other players to create as many words as possible.
5 points per word.
10 points per word if in a complete sentence including punctuation.
Ages 5 to 105.
Keep your mind sharp especially the elderly.
Pick your own words from any subject, school book, magazine, etc.
Players make a list of words chosen.
Each player is given a set of upper case and lower-case vowels and a set of uppercase consonants.
At the beginning of the game all lowercase consonant letter cards are placed down on the game board.
Each player chooses 10 cards at random and places them in front of them face up.
If the player has drawn cards that are not needed to make words from the players list, the player may return the cards to the game board once the timer has been started.
Start the timer for 10 min.
The player will make as many words as possible within the 10 min.
Players simultaneously draw cards from the game board one at a time.
If the player draws a letter needed to make a word they keep it in their hand.
If the player draws a letter that is not needed to make a word it will be put back and the player may continue drawing cards.
Each word made will be worth 5 points.
Words in a complete sentence with correct punctuation will be worth 10 points each.
The player with the most points when the timer goes off wins.
Challenge: The Word Game can be played at school, at home with family, or anywhere.
Risks and challenges
