Sometimes as knitters, we get stuck in a creativity-box where we only knit in a single colour using a single yarn. This book is all about breaking out and experimenting with different yarn combinations, different gauges, different colours and having just a little bit more fun with knitted fabric.
This book includes 9 knitting patterns ranging from an I've-Never-Knit-Before Headband to a How-Do-I-Knit-Up-This-Enormous-Stash Blanket. Each pattern focuses on using multiple strands of yarn to create completely unique fabrics. These patterns were all designed thinking about how we could use yarn in a new way. It is friendly enough for beginners while still being interesting enough for more experienced knitters.
As well as the nine included patterns, this book also has a comprehensive guide to combining different yarn weights to get your desired fabric, basic knitting and finishing instructions, some thoughts about gauge (and why sometimes it's not all it's cracked up to be), and other tips and tricks for a more artistic and playful way of thinking about yarn. This book uses simple patterns to demonstrate the idea that you can completely customize your knitting projects.
While primarily a knitting book, we also wanted to make something beautiful so we're pairing our patterns with nice photography and high quality paper for a coffee table book feel. The cover will be matte and the pages nice and sturdy. The colour pallet we've chosen is neutral with pops of lilac and mustard yellow and we've used a broad sampling of yarn from Cascade Yarns.
This book truly has something for everyone.

Our Reach Goal
If we reach $7000 we'll be releasing a second whole book! Last year we released 12 patterns over 12 months, all inspired by British Columbia, Canada. If we get this goal, we'll compile our favorites into a best-of book (and e-book!)
We Did Again! Well, we've passed our reach goal of $7000! That's amazing! Anything more that we receive will be used for higher quality printing and distribution costs so we can get these two books everywhere we can. Thanks again!!

Risks and challenges
As two mothers of young children, our biggest challenge is making the time to complete everything that needs to be done. Though with most of the big things (concept development, yarn sourcing, designing, knitting, photography) already out of the way, we will be devoting the next few months focusing on book layout and editing and getting everything in tip-top shape for release.
We will be updating throughout the process and letting our backers know if there will be any delays in publication though we're confidant that we can put on the finishing touches and have this ready for the end of September, just in time for Knit City 2018.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
