I'm going into the recording studio to make a solo record with Lucinda WIllliams' Love Band, and I'd like you to be my collaborator.
Not only could you be involved in helping create this record, but you have also discovered a one-stop shopping center for some great holiday gift ideas! CDs, concert tickets, backstage passes, private guitar lessons over Skype for you or someone you love, or Doug could play on your record or on the record of someone you really really love.
Should you choose to back my project, you'll be able to preorder the recording in a variety of formats, as well as aide in subsidizing ongoing production costs for:
Studio time, musicians, producers, engineers: ($10,000)
Completion of packaging design, manufacturing, shipping fees, and the release of Doug Pettibone's premiere full-length album, in digital or CD, ($5000)
Let's make a record!
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Doing a Kickstarter campaign is a huge risk, because it’s all or nothing! There’s always that risk of falling short of your goal.
Once the funding is complete, the only real risk I can foresee, which isn't really a risk, but I guess it is sort of, is that things always take longer than you think they're going to. Hurry up and wait:) Making a record is so dependent on so many individuals along a timeline, and it's very easy for things to keep getting pushed back. But knowing this, I think I've built in plenty of extra time in my Pledge promises to you, and I'm hoping the CD will be done a lot sooner, actually! Regardless, I will keep you informed every step of the way.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
