Hello from Kenya & Production Update
Dear Nisolo Backers,
Hello from our little workshop in Ongata Rongai, a town just outside of Nairobi, Kenya! My name is Alice, and I hit Kenyan soil a few weeks ago. I have been working hard alongside Raymond and our production team to fulfill the remaining Kickstarter orders. It has been fascinating to learn the intricate craft of brass jewelry - by the time a piece of jewelry is completed, it has touched the hands of almost everyone on the production team - molding, casting, grinding, soldering, polishing, etc.! I have also been immersing myself in the local artisan world here and was recently at a market with Raymond when an old friend of his came up to me and said, “This is the master of our craft,” beaming at Raymond. We are definitely honored to have Raymond leading our team in Kenya.
Being on the ground has opened our eyes to a number of causes to the delay in fulfilling our orders, namely the detailed process of hand-making the chain for our Rex, Joplin and Sol necklaces. Through continual collaboration with Sharon, Violet and Miriam, our talented chain team, and a new soldering torch in hand, Raymond and I are very excitedly looking to next Friday, March 25th, as the shipment date for all of our remaining Kickstarter orders to leave Kenya. This covers the Brass and Bone Rex, Brass Rex, Sol, Joplin, Mini Rex earrings, and the Brass and Bone ring. In turn, each of you should receive your long-awaited pieces in the mail by the end of March or early April.
We are so excited to finally get these pieces you’ve been waiting for in your hands. Thank you for your patience and we are confident it will be worth your wait.
If you have any questions about your individual order, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All the best,
Alice + Team Nisolo
