About

Sto On The Go! - More than a food truck

Hi, and first thanks for taking the time to look at my idea. Greatly Appreciated!

This idea actually came to me with the help of my little sister. We randomly linked up in the kitchen and started discussing what we wanted our future to look like. After a while we started to discuss the idea of an ice cream truck. She told me she always wanted a ice cream truck, for whatever reason, and my mind instantly went to food truck.

But also not a food truck, basically a moving GAS STATION. Here me out! Here in Michigan we can get some pretty harsh winters. It’s gets really cold and snows, and most of the time causes people to want to stay at home, only leaving the house to go to work or grab things they need from the store. That made me think, there’s a market!

Imagine being at home putting on your winter coat and boots getting ready to go get some things for the house when you hear an “ice cream truck”.  In the winter? Yes! You go outside and see that they have what you were going to get.

  • Gloves, Hats, Scarfs
  • Shovels
  • Coffee
  • Sidewalk Salt
  • Snacks
  • Etc

Even picture this. You’re at work and were heading out to find somewhere to get lunch. But, instead lunch finds you. We hope to offer delicious food at the consumer’s convience!

  • Pizza
  • Hot Dogs
  • Chicken
  • Fries
  • Beverages
  • Nachos
  • Burgers
  • Sandwiches

You name it I want to have it!

My little sister then began to take it a step further. You see there’s an underground business here in the city where people sell gas cards, legal or illegal, that I don’t know. But it’d be cool to partner with an gas station to actually sell legit gas gift cards to the customers. Maybe even giving some away sometimes. That idea made me think, GAS STATIONS. It would be really awesome to sell other typical gas station things such as chips, candy, and maybe even a lottery machine (I’m thinking big). I literally want to make it so that the store comes to you.

So much so, I also want to develop an app where you can request the truck to come to you. Like Uber for 7-Eleven.

Unfortunately, there’s a big homeless population here in Detroit. It would be the best thing ever if some of our profits go to helping feed and comfort some of the homeless. Giving them hot food, coffee, gloves, hats, scarfs, etc. Hopefully by Christmas.

Helping with this venture, you’re helping more than a busines. You’re also helping two kids who are dreamers. Trying to make their life something and help improve other’s lives. Hopefully to someday expand their business and give back to the community. If you’re able to donate even a dollar, it’s something.

Risks and challenges

I recognize it’s not going to as easy as in my head. I know there a few food trucks already here in the city, so I’ll have competition. Also, finding a truck spacious enough for storing everything I want to have might be an issue. I saw a couple that look promising, but I’ll have to see in person. The biggest problem we face (and the reason I’m on KickStarter) is finances. A college student and a high school student simply don’t have to money to fund all of this alone. My family isn’t the richest, so their help will come from helping to work the truck, but we need money to run the truck. I’m hoping just a good start will provide what we’ll need to run the truck for many, MANY years to come. And hopefully expand outside of Michigan, maybe even the US.
