STREAMZ is a new form of wearable entertainment that we like to call “exotainment”.
During the past decade the world has experienced a revolution in personal mobile entertainment. Over 500 million people now enjoy music whenever and wherever they want, in the privacy of their own mobile personal, private world.

TRANZ Bluetooth Transmitter
The TRANZ is a small module that connects to a stereo output and transmits audio from analog audio sources such as a home TV Audio Video Receiver (AVR). Note - The TRANZ Bluetooth Transmitter is only required to listen to external analog audio sources such as a home TV Audio Video Receiver (AVR) and is not included in all Pledges.

The STREAMZ Manager App runs on the Android and iOS mobile Smartphone/Tablet operating system devices such as the Apple iPhone/iPad, Samsung Galaxy and many other devices.

STREAMZ is a spinoff company from Mozaex who introduced the world's most popular Blu-ray 3D Media Server and the award winning BLUWAVS HDMI 7.1 HD Surround Headphones.
STREAMZ is the culmination of 30 years of developing media products for companies including NEC®, Gateway®, Dell®, IMAX® and many others.
In the process of designing the BLUWAVS 7.1 Headphones, the company discovered it would be possible to incorporate the necessary BLUWAVS electronics inside the headphones.
That pivotal moment was the catalyst for the creation of STREAMZ!

Douglas Kihm, CEO, gave a demonstration of BLUWAVS 7.1 Fiji to renowned headphones expert Tyll Hertsens of Inner Fidelity at The Home Entertainment (T.H.E.) Show in Newport Beach to a welcomed warm response!
Tyll who has reviewed more than 300 headphones opined: "I've heard a number of multi-drive surround headphones and without exception they all suuuucked! So as I sat down to have a listen to the Mozaex BluWavs 7.1 surround headphones my expectations were pretty low. Surprise, surprise, they sounded pretty damned good." “...the BluWavs system did manage to deliver surprisingly good performance in this regard. Well done!” .
The Birth and Design of STREAMZ
We set out and integrated the necessary BLUWAVS 7.1 components into the world's first Smart Streaming Headphones.
STREAMZ R&D Process
Hardware, Firmware, Audio and User Interface
A. A basic system design layout including the following hand drawn ear cup layout and initial CAD mechanicals shown below were designed with the main building block including the Android based Processor, Embedded Processor, the GPIO, the AMP boards, the Speaker boards and the cabling was laid out.

B. The boards, the keypad flex-strip circuit and the plastic and metal mechanicals were designed.
C. Prototype plastic mechanicals were made using both 3D printing machines and RTV casting molds.

D. The Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and flex-strip key pads were prototyped, assembled and tested using the rapid prototyped plastic and metal chassis.

E. The firmware was loaded on the embedded and Android based processor. We debugged the firmware and performed the first successful functional tests playing music loaded onto the headset and from Google Drive.
F. We choose a 48kHz/16 bit Digital Analog Converter (DAC) plus the proprietary 50mm speakers and the BLUWAVS amplifier design. The digital gain control used on BLUWAVS was also used for the on ear-cup master volume control.
G. Finally we tested two more revisions of firmware with voice synthesis and source selection from onboard player to streaming directly from Pandora and Spotify.
H. The prototype User Interface that we have come to call “MAUI” for Media Access User Interface is based on both the onboard keypad controls or optionally from a Smartphone using a Smartphone App.
I. The final functioning prototype was demonstrated at CES January 7th, 2014. .

Current State Of R&D of Kickstarter Features
We have begun development of the three added features as follows:
A. Microphone. The electrical interface from a microphone has been defined based on the existing embedded microprocessor and Analog to Digital Converter interface lines and on-board electronics.
B. Voice Synthesis (Synth) and Recognition (Recog). Basic Voice Synth has been developed and proof of concept tests of Google Voice Recog have been completed.
C. MAUI API. The basic Media Access User Interface (MAUI) Application Programming Interface (API) as been defined based on the currently used Mozaex MOZI API. The STREAMZ MAUI and Mozaex MOZI API's are only available to authorized developers. .
STREAMZ Production Model Design

How We'll Use Your Support
1. Release the STREAMZ MAUI API
The company is going to release our "MAUI" Developers Application Programming Interface (API) specification so that developers can release new game changing STREAMZ Apps. MAUI = Media Access User Interface
2. Add a Microphone.
Adding the microphone will break the sound barrier (so to speak) and usher in a plethora of exciting new Apps that will literally change how people search, select, play and control the playback of a wide range of media.
3. Release the Production Mechancial Design
The Production V1.0 headset will have a more ergonomic mechanical design with narrower, thinner frame design that will be more conducive to mobile, active wear. We are fortunate here at STREAMZ to be able to draw upon the established, 30 years of world-class engineering, production and support experience at Mozaex.
The STREAMZ TEAM's expertise in the design, production and support of leading edge products is second to none in the industry.
