A miniatures skirmish game with RPG-style customizability. Build a Warband to complete missions and foil the plans of your enemies.
Parallax: Warbands is a fast-paced skirmish game set in a world of high fantasy. Players build a Warband of approximately 4-8 highly customizable adventurers and mercenaries to complete missions and foil the plans of their enemies. A Warband may be as diverse or faction-centered as a player chooses; representing mercenaries and/or faction-led parties alike. From how your forces align, to choosing the Warband’s commander, each player makes decisions, which alter a game’s play style. Lead your characters to fame and glory, or watch them fall to the swords and spells of their foes.
In Parallax: Warbands games are won and lost by how many contracts are successfully completed before time runs out. At the beginning of the game, players accept a number of Contract Cards, which detail the Warband’s objectives. The more contracts a player completes, the more victory points they earn! However, failure to deliver on your promises means you’ll lose points instead.

The Kickstarter, like the game, is highly customizable. You can choose to buy any individual model(s) or an entire Warband. All of the models and the book are available as Add-ons.
In addition, each item has a point value. Please note the point value has nothing to do with points within the game itself. Points are used if you select one of the Essentials pledges. The “Essentials Pledge” and “2 Player Essentials” include either 10 or 20 points worth of models.
When the survey is sent out at the end of the campaign, you will choose the models you want from the existing host of medles and those unlocked by stretch goals.
Please use the guide below when you are looking at the reward levels. Each level builds on the previous layer and is color-coded so you can easily see the new items for each level. The color on each of the reward level logo below matches the new items.
When designing the game we wanted it to have an epic look and feel. When you are only fielding a handful of models, each of them should have a unique presence on the battlefield.
The models for Parallax: Warbands are large, 35mm scale, allowing for more details in the models. The Minotaur is approximately 90mm, approx. 3.5 inches tall, and humans are 35mm or approx. 1.5 inches. This was done with the painter in mind giving them more detail and canvas to work with.
Note: All models come unpainted and unassembled.
Cayads: Once a proud race of nomadic canine hunters, the Cayads are now a dark and blood-thirsty faction, which seeks revenge for the chaos caused by the great split.
Devoid: Tough and sturdy humans who survived eons without magic. The Devoid focus on their ingenuity and engineering to maintain their way of life.
Hadjen: The self-appointed lords of Magic, these wise elephantine denizens of Parallax take it upon themselves to be the shepherds of all; and will protect their world at all costs.
Minotaurs: An ancient race with strong ancestral ties. The unnatural physical strength of these beasts belies their true nature as the historians of time.
Sicarius: These feline forest dwellers focus on archery and totems to protect the Runic Pools.
Tir: These humans posses magical talents that are highly sought after by other races. Now that the worlds have rejoined, they must choose their friend’s wisely, lest they return to a life of slavery.
As the Kickstarter progresses we will be placing new videos here every week. To get started we want to give you the introductory video on the character cards. The next videos will be on exhaustion, combat and Contract Cards. We will also shoot a video on gameplay running through a couple of rounds.
Before we start with the explanations, I thought a video on what Parallax means to me may be in order.

This game has been a passion for a long time and we have been carefully figuring out how to balance it and make it a game that we would want to buy and play. Now that the mechanics has been tested and we know that we have a game worth playing the question was, how do we get it out to the market? The answer was Kickstarter. The game works, the models are beautiful and now we come to you to make our dream a reality.

Risks and challenges
Because we have experience a history of creating games and running a successful Kickstarter that delivers on its promise. This will be the second Kickstarter that has been run; and on the first, we not only delivered on our ship date, we beat it. We are dedicated to delivering a quality experience through the quality of our miniatures, depth of our universe, and the mechanics of the game itself. Our reputation means a lot to us – and we want to uphold our customer's expectations.
