Risks and challenges
Risks? Well, I'm saying I'm making a weekly game. That's a huge risk.
And I'm saying it's going to be fun. That's a huge risk.
And I'm doing 100% of the art and programming. So I'm kinda building the road while I run down it.
So... how can I pull this off? Well, I've been a game programmer for years, and I love games. And I'm using the mighty LightWave3D, which gives me modeling and animation in one tightly coupled package. And I'm using Unity3D for the game engine. I built a fairly complicated dialog and plot engine for an earlier game I was working on, but frankly this game is much more interesting.
So between the components I've made for about a dozen other games before it, and the 3D models I love making, I'll have more than enough fodder for the game.
Plus, I love playing games. And there's really nothing like this out there right now.
