Americans who are passionate about attending sporting events, concerts, and other forms of entertainment now have a more transparent, efficient, and effective method for buying and selling tickets online: FanATicket, a new state-of-the-art site and associated mobile app designed to solve the major problems besetting the sports and entertainment ticket industry. Through a business model that aims to give sports and entertainment fans the best bang for their buck, FanATicket is poised to revolutionize the ticket marketplace by making social media central to the ticket buying process. This will allow ticket buyers to communicate with sellers, boosting transparency at every level.

To start the transaction process, sellers will post tickets at their face values, after which potential buyers will bid on the tickets until they reach a maximum price of 110% of their face value (Interested buyers can set notifications that help them stay in the bidding process for as long as they’d like.)This novel approach allows many buyers to bid on the same tickets instead of defaulting to a first come, first served mindset. Now fans can claim those tickets that best fit their price range, even as tickets stay in the market until the seller approves of a sale or the bidding have reached 110% of the tickets’ face value. No longer will fans have to worry about being too late to buy tickets. Rather, tickets will go to the fan who desires them the most.

To ensure that tickets are delivered on time, with time enough remaining in which to resolve any issues, all tickets for an event will be taken off the market three hours before the event start time. At the three-hour mark, if the seller has not yet manually approved a buyer or the bidding has not reached 110% of face value, then the highest bid will “win” the tickets. (The seller can adjust the deadline for selling the tickets, if desired, so long as the end time is no less than three hours before the event’s start time.) This approach cuts ticket scalpers and ticket bots out of the equation, increasing transparency between individual buyers and sellers while avoiding the overly inflated prices and lack of transparency, that otherwise plague ticket sales. What’s more, FanATicket will earn a 4% commission on ticket sales, significantly less than the 10% that sites such as StubHub charge. This focus on reducing costs will be complemented by a rewards system that rewards loyal buyers and sellers, by offering them coupons to cover the cost of events of their choice after they have bought or sold a number of tickets exceeding a certain threshold. As circumstances allow, they will also be able to take advantage of event-specific promotions provided by FanATicket.

Connecting Buyers with Sellers

Without ticket bots in the mix, thanks to FanATicket’s advanced bot detection algorithms, actual sellers will be able to post a wide range of tickets —for U.S. events only, but potentially international events as well. In either case, the buyer will know the exact amount they will be charged, without the hidden costs charged by other major ticket sites. This will help customers get the best bang for their buck while enjoying greater control over the process. Our world-class customer service team will stand ready to assist our customers, resolving issues quickly while leveraging the cutting-edge technology built into our app. What's more, FanATicket will help prevent fraud by bringing sellers and buyers together: Each seller will upload an accurate image of each ticket for confirmation, and each buyer will upload an image of himself or herself (or another intended attendee) so that once a sale is completed, FanATicket can print that image on the ticket, allowing event staff to easily match the ticket presenter with its intended user. And there's good news for sellers, too: Sellers who do not want to interact with buyers can sell their tickets directly to FanATicket, which will sell the tickets on the seller’s behalf for a slight commission. In all cases, sellers will be prohibited from selling tickets at more than 10% above face value.

This ease of use extends to buyers as well, allowing them to complete their purchases using a variety of common payment methods, including PayPal. Shipping costs will be avoided by sending tickets electronically after every transaction. Behind all this will be FanATicket’s refund department, dedicated to ensuring the integrity of the process whenever issues arise.

Connecting Funders with Events

The FanATicket crowdfunding campaign is raising funds to make this initiative a reality.
