Introducing Kingdoms and the world of Erden:
This is the foundation. The game i will be making will have better art work and more strategy options.
The Beta versions will be available in March at the conclusion of this campaign. Most of the "merchandise", like t-shirts and puzzles will also be available in March. The "playing", poker cards will also be available in March. The starter set will be available in June. The Deluxe edition which includes 6 factions will be released in December. I will be posting updates and pictures of art and finished products as i am able.
The upgraded version will have more features, more strategy, collectability and much better artwork.
Faction team building. The first player to get to a certain number of faction points by collecting members of a faction wins.
Painted Illustrations. The high quality art and life-like faces immerse you in the medieval fantasy world of Erden.
Dice Roll Combat. Rolling dice against your opponents characters or the characters drawn from the draw pile.
Team Combat. Choose up to three fighters from the cards in your hand and have them fight solo or as a team.
Faction Team Synergy. When two or more of your chosen fighters are from the same faction, they have a common cause and get synergy bonuses.
Shield Roles, temporary powers and buffs. Cards that will aid you in your fight and may take the brunt of an attack, saving your more important characters.
Faction Banners and Locations. Cards that aid or hinder characters depending on the faction.
Treasures,weapons, armor and Relics. Cards that aid your character in combat or bribing your way out of it.
Defensive and Aggressive Stances. Choose your characters stance so that they will have a better defense or attack value. 1 side of a card is defensive stance with illustrated pose and the other side is aggressive stance with illustrated pose. This also allows for transformations like werewolves and charged attacks.
Damage Types Combat Strategy System. Each card will have damage type aggressive and defensive values for both stances. This will allow you to choose whether to attack with blade, fire or both. Many damage types allow for many combinations and lots of strategy.

The Factions. The starter set features two factions central to both the main continent and the world conflict.
The Blue Team, or Imelridh Faction, spreads light and hope from their home on and around the Adia Mountains. Their King wears The Star Sigil, a Sigil stone of great power that links all devout Imelridh people and lets them use their life force to perform marvels through the use of soul stones. Their soul stones can be linked to the Sigil stone worn by the King. Tithes of energy go automatically to the Sigil to which they are linked and the surplus flows back to the people. The Imelridh strive to live by the rule of Justice and Mercy and fight for all that is good both in their homes, on their borders and abroad, to defend both their "brothers" and their "cousins". Imelridh means Kindom of Heaven.
The Red Team, or Carnaros Faction, do not stray far from their home in the Carnaros Valley, north of the Adia Mountains, except to seek out an enemy of the True Bloods. Their King wears The Carnaros Sigil, a Sigil stone of great power that links all devout Carnaros people and lets them use their life force to perform marvels through the use of sould stones. Their soul stones can be linked to the Sigil stone worn by the King. Tithes of energy go automatically to the Sigil to which they are linked and surplus flows back to the people. The Carnaros strive to live by the rule of Purity and Separation and fight against all that is corrupted or impure in their homes, on their borders and abroad, to destroy the half-men and any who would protect them. Carnaros means Red Rose.
The world of Kingdoms of Erden started in the the heads of my brothers and i as we played fantasy and sci-fi games. "This world would be awesome if it had dragons!" We dreamed of a fantasy world where were-dragons wore armor, and physical angels lived in the clouds on floating islands.
There are lots of fun games out there, but i had to play several different games to get the experience i was looking for. I wanted RPG, multi-player or solo option, PVP, strategy, but simplicity. I looked up "the worst things about board games". Too many pieces. It takes too long to set up. Its too difficult to understand or explain. The pieces brake too easily. They are too expensive. I can never find enough players to start a game.
I want to not just make a card game but a new fantasy world to experience. This Card game will just be the first phase. Next will be the board game. This "world" is alive in my head. I had to start sharing it. One day my sister and I sat down and for 12 hours painted a map. I didn't want to just make up towns and dungeons, I wanted the towns to be there because they belonged there. I needed the land and its resources to decide where people were.
Mountains. oceans. rivers. they divide and unite the world we live in. and that's what made this map a living place. This continent is very large for a fantasy world. but small compared to the world we live in. That breeds conflict. over 400 Cities are crammed onto this landmass the size of Texas.
Hundreds of kingdoms and many more factions fighting and trading and mining and farming for their lives. This map is large and you can see mighty rivers and deserts and forests and swamps and mountains, but you can't tell where the people are, that's half the fun, exploring different cultures. so now lets find out where the people are.
This is a work in progress, discovering where the people live on this continent and why. Why are they fighting. the reasons are as diverse as the people.
The Game i want to make now focuses on the many factions and the key members of those factions. The influential people who swayed the hearts and allegiance of their country men. A Kingdom faction has some very important positions, like a King, a Queen, a Priest,... They can all fight for what they believe in in their own way. And if they fight together they will have the advantage. Build your team and lead your faction to victory through strength and strategy.
This is the version that we have been playing. This is the Beta print and play version.

I want to make a game I know you will love. Everyone who has played it already loves it and thanks to constructive criticism and my wife's keen mind, we're improving the play system and working on developing strategy.
I have a pretty good game. But with the help of all the people out there who like to play and to dream big. We can make a really amazing Game. Thank you all for daring to dream big and believing in this project. I have tried to put rewards that mean something and that will be super fun and that will get other people excited about the project. My brother and I will be producing the rewards except for the art gifts, like t-shirts and mouse pads.
How does the game work? Here are the rules that we have been playing with. Keep in mind that with the features i will be implementing, there will be more strategy options.
Each player starts with five cards, dealt from the draw pile. Each player is allowed no more than seven cards at a time. The object of the game is to have enough cards of the same color/team to total at least twenty-five points. The point value of each card is indicated on each card. Each player selects between 1 and 3 cards to place on the battle field (table). The player may roll the number of dice indicated by the total point value of their cards on the battle field, totaling no more than seven. They may roll each of the dice three times per turn. If they have more than one card on the battle field of the same color, then they get synergy bonuses. Synergy bonus point: this allows one more dice (maximum of seven) to be rolled when two or more character cards of the same color fight together against the opponent card on the battlefield. Synergy bonus roll: this allows the dice to be rolled four times when two or more character cards of the same color fight together against the opponent card on the battlefield. Once a player has placed their chosen character cards on the battlefield, they may draw an opponent card from the top of the draw pile and roll the appropriate number of dice. If the dice rolled is the same as the combination indicated on the opponent card, that card is defeated and must be taken by the player. The player may only have seven cards at a time, including those on the battlefield. If a player has more than seven cards, the extra card must be immediately discarded. Players may discard either to the bottom of the draw pile or to the top of the draw pile. If a player defeats an opponent card on the first roll of their turn, they may draw again and roll two more times (or three if they have the synergy bonus) against the second opponent card. If a player does not roll the correct combination to defeat an opponent card on their turn, one of their cards on the battlefield must be discarded to the bottom of the pile and the opponent card must be discarded to the the top of the pile. A players cards on the battlefield are used to determine how many dice may be rolled against opponent cards. Cards of the same color, different color and no color may be used together. At least two of the players cards on the battlefield must be the same color to get the synergy bonuses. There are some cards that have no dice combination indicated. These are treasure cards. These rare item cards have a point value and may be used against later opponents but do not need to be defeated. They may be picked up as soon as they are drawn. They do not count as an opponent and you may draw another card. They can be used on the battlefield along with character cards to give a higher point value to the team on the battlefield. Players may exchange character cards or treasure cards on the battlefield with cards in their reserve hand between turns or opponents.
Co-authorship and story telling.
So this is a new IP and although it's not a blank canvas, there is a lot of room for more detail. One of the great things about games and stories is that it lets us experience the things in our minds and tell our point of view in a way that we won't be judged for. I have tons of ideas about the stories behind the characters and the factions they represent. I am open to the ideas of others and would like to make co-authorship available. One of the high tier rewards opens up the doors of creativity where you and your friends can put your inner selves on the stage. Tell your story, visually and emotionally as well as in words. a short description at the bottom of your character and the depiction of your character can speak volumes. As i will be writing about this world after the game is made, i want the world to be as full and diverse as possible.
How much do i need?
Obviously the more money i get, the more i will be able to do and the better the quality of the game will be.
Rather than spend all of this time getting this campaign started and asking for more and getting nothing, I will start small and work my way up. We are making the game and will be pushing to do as much as we can get funding for. So, here is the breakdown of how much i need and what i will do with it. We have already committed to releasing the game. I hope you will back our project and we can make it Amazing!
The starter deck features the two central factions of the Imelridh and the Carnaros. Each team will have 15 members. There will also be some random cards of other factions and other unique cards that enhance gameplay. I will also be producing the playing cards.
The guardians of humankind, the Imelridh religious devotion and passion for truth and justice has put them at odds with just about everyone. This faction is included in the starter set and the character illustrations are being created for the starter set, I am asking for help raising the money to pay for the illustrations.

Noble and wise, the elves long lives gives them insight and patience that most mortals cannot fathom.
Delvers and diggers and smiths, the hardy dwarves seek honor and gold and beer to celebrate.
Werewolves, a creature as murderous as it is mysterious. Few know when or how they ever came to be.
The corrupted green skinned mortals can trace their ancestors to the six original races of Erden. Includes Orcs, Goblins, Ogres, Gnolls,Trolls and Imps. Slaughter is now their last name.
We will be able to give each character two illustrations, one on one side and a second on the other side of the card. One stance/pose will be Defensive and the other Aggressive. Each characters stats will change as their stance changes. You will be able to decide when playing your cards which side will be the active side up.
The damage type battle system assigns damage type attacks and defenses for each character. Torches do fire damage. Beauty does influence damage. Swords do slashing damage.

Risks and challenges
Besides taxes, hiring more amazing artists, acquiring software and hardware to speed up the project, and budgeting time for play testing. Once i have the Starter deck complete. I will release it asap and publish it so that money will continue to be funneled into the project and the game will be able to continue to grow.
All rewards have simple descriptions of items to be awarded. there are no stacking rewards. if you want multiple rewards, you must buy each one individually. I have budgeted for time to make the art assets as well as play testing and if we get more money, we can release sooner. Everyone who pledges will get early access on the games. Not only will this give players a chance to play the game while it's still in the play testing phase, but it will give them a headstart on collecting and learning the game before tournaments start. The add-ons in the form of complete faction sets or random grab-bag sets will be released on monthly basis after the game comes out in december.
