New mobile game about a squirrel running around in the road picking up acorns and crashing cars for points!
Crashland is a game I've had to restart the development of twice. It's my second game for release. My first game was Cool-B in Search of Floyd. My dad, a graphic artist, has done the artwork for the game, and I've been the programmer and designer. Feel free to check out my dad's website to see what kind of artwork he does. I'm not going to make this a really long description, because the game is small and the goal is small.
-About the Game-
Crashland is about Gary the squirrel running around in the road collecting acorns and making cars crash. It's a humorous game. Touch the screen, and Gary runs to wherever you're touching. When all the cars on the screen have been crashed, a bulldozer comes from off the screen and pushes all the cars off the road. Each level lasts 30 seconds. The game is planned to be free, ad-supported, and with buyable extra levels and power-ups (in-app purchases). There may be a paid version with no ads.
The game is mostly complete, but I've started this kickstarter because I need a little bit of money for the game to be released on the platforms on which I want it to release. I'm trying to buy a mac for porting the game to iOS (it currently only runs on Android). That's why the goal for the kickstarter is what it is. I also need the mac in order to update the iOS version of my first game, Cool-B in Search of Floyd. I used the mac owned by the person I'm buying the mac from to originally create the iOS version of that game, but now I need to buy it to use it. There are bugs in that game that are fixed in the Android version but still present in the iOS version. I also need the money to help pay for my office rent.
I would like to release the game on iOS and Android as soon as it's done and the kickstarter is over. If you have any suggestions or questions regarding the game and/or the kickstarter, please let me know, as this is my first time attempting a kickstarter! Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The only real risks and challenges that I might encounter would be technical delays in getting the iOS version of the game approved on the App store.
