My warm greetings to you!! Thank you for taking the time to watch the presentation above!
It is my treasured dream to be able to support myself with my craft. There is nothing I love more than being in my studio, lost in the ever expanding and vivid universe of creativity. It is a heart - felt honor to grace the routine of a customer's life with a piece of pottery. This is my favorite aspect of the craft- a way to go on loving people day after day, long after they have purchased the piece and even when they may be thousands of miles away.
I will be working very hard to make this my livelihood, so that I will be able to quit my day job.
I plan to sell to galleries and retail stores all over the US, as well as do private commissions and some craft fairs. I will also be creating a professional website for my pottery from which I will be selling items as well.
Within my funding goal I have incorporated all costs for materials and space, as well as all fees associated with Kickstarter, Amazon and fulfilling the rewards. By backing this Kickstarter your money will be distributed amongst the following production costs:
Rental of studio space
Energy bills/set up
Kiln, kiln venting system, kiln installation
Hand -built canvass covered wedging, glazing and working tables
Hand-built damp room (hydrated storage for pots-in-process & slow drying)
Glazes, electric mixer, glazing screen, glazing brushes, buckets
Throwing gauge, scale, throwing bats, trimming bats, buckets, tools
Shipping charges/ supplies
Risks and challenges
I see one challenge being present in finding the ideal space to rent.
It is my goal to find the best location for both 3phase electricity and affordability. I have seen one very promising location, but in the event the space is rented before I am able to procure it, my back-up plan is to rent a home with a large basement or spare bedroom in which I can set up studio for a long term lease.
