About this project
Seeker arrow track enemy
Thank you Julie
A little shout out to our friends (the backers)....
Hey guys, here's a quick video giving you a summary of where we are at! With 35 years of combined movie experience behind us, working on such films like Avatar, Hunger Games, Men in Black 3 and Superman Returns, we know we have the know how to bring you a quality experience and we plan on keeping you in the loop the whole way. Thanx so much for your support and See You Soon!
If you're a fan of movies....you're a fan of us!
Here’s the first in-‐game test of “Whompy”, as he introduces himself to SlingCat.
A new enemy is after SlingCat. Feel free to have a looksee at lil “Wompy’s” animation test. Wow...that’s one biiiiig Mallet.
TOMMY THE GANSTA RABBIT
BLAMO! Bullet’s fly, as our programmer Shanat managed get “Tommy” in for game-‐ testing last night.
Today’s update is my animation test for a new enemy that will bounce in and fire projectiles from the other end of the screen. So you’d all better hope that SlingCat has been practicing his long range shooting.
SlingCat is the story of two intrepid cats with big dreams and adventurous souls. Armed with a treasure map to a mysterious island, they go in search of excitement. But they are attacked by the villainous Dog who captures SlingCat's friend and with her, the treasure map.
Armed with a bow and special arrows, it's up to you to help SlingCat battle his way across the island, avoid pitfalls, collect all manner of items, find the treasure and save the day!
Our goal from the get go was to ensure that we achieved the highest quality 2d animation, a challenging game with the feel of a mini-adventure movie. In a word, a game that makes you pick it up and play it over and over again!
With your support, we'd be able to complete our adventure in this new and exciting world by working full-time on this game to complete it by end of Summer 2013. All funds received will go towards the production of this game, such as licenses, programs, compatibility testing, and some salaries.
So thank you very much! Your support is what will bring SlingCat to your smartphones and tablets and enable you to enjoy a game we're having so much fun creating.
We've made a change to our reward tiers. Due to popular query, we've decided that it is only fair that our backers get a copy of the game from $4 pledge and up. We cannot change it in the rewards column as the campaign has started and we already have some backers but we thought we'd put it here as an update.
For our backers, we are giving a copy of the game from $24 pledge and up. But we are going to be upfront with our strategy here. We have structured our rewards so that we might ask you, our backers to hold onto the extra dollar and also buy the game through the App Store at launch. This is due, in particular, to the Apple App Store policy, where apps downloaded using redeemable codes do not allow backers to review the game, nor does it affect the sale ranking of the game. Which makes it tricky getting noticed on the App Store. ... But... with your support (by purchasing the app on the App Store), we could get high on the charts. If we do, we'll be able to bring you even more SlingCat games in the future!
Thank you so much for your help!
As an expression of our thanks, we have sweetened the kitty! Offerings like exclusive prints and original drawings from the game, T-shirts and other goodies!
As the campaign progresses, we will update you on what the artwork we are offering you will be, giving you the choice of choosing the artwork you would best like to have.
Please note: there are various sizes available for Tshirts, in men, women and kid styles. At the end of the campaign, we will get the size you want directly from you.
Thank you so much for your help!
Please note: You will need to manually add the shipping rates to your pledges for orders placed outside the US. We will be unable to ship your order without receiving the proper shipping amount. Thank you!
Risks and challenges
Our main challenge is to finish the production of the game...work out all the kinks in the game play, add special effects, sound, music, and then spit out the code for various devices. We plan on launching at the end of summer 2013 barring any unexpected problems.
Of all the problems we face, device compatibility and performance is always the biggest challenge. And we are using Unity3D v4.0 as our development platform. So if Unity does not support a device, we will not be able to make our game for that device.
At present, we are aiming for Apple iOS devices made 2010 and later, with iOS 5.1 and above, and Android v2.3. We may not be able to support all Android devices though we will try our best. And we plan on building the game for Windows phones, time permitting.
SlingCat is our dream. And we are so happy to be sharing this dream with you! We can't tell you how much it means to us to have this opportunity to make this game a finished reality! Together with you ..the kickstarter community ...Thank you!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
