A teenage boy must find the strength to face the gravity of his mother’s illness, despite fear, doubt, and an overbearing father.
I’ve seen a lot of films talk about death, but I’ve seen very few that are completely honest about it, and I’ve never seen it on-screen the way I’ve seen it in real life. We have such a rare opportunity here to tell a story that has the power to touch everyone, because it is about something that affects us all.
Like it or not, whether we want to talk about it or not, we are all afraid of death. And we are often even more afraid that it will come for the ones we love than for us. We're afraid of suffering. We don’t want our parents, children, brothers and sisters to suffer. And we all would fight tooth and nail to protect them.
UNCONDITIONAL is a story about that fight, about that fear, about that impending grief. We believe that this story needs to be told, but in order to do so, we need your help. If this sounds like something that hits close to home for you, please consider helping us tell the world about it.

To capture the cold, dissociative mood of a hospital, we'll be going for a look and feel that includes a lot of steely greys and blues.
Here are some of our comparables:
Through online crowdfunding, we are aiming to raise £2,000, which will make up part of our total budget. Most of UNCONDITIONAL's budget will go towards the hospital ward location and production design as we are adamant about authenticity. In order to achieve this, we will be filming in a specialised hospital set, plus we will be renting medical equipment, props, and costumes. We will also bring on board a hair & make-up and prosthetics specialist, as well as a medical consultant to guarantee a genuine look and feel. The funds raised through Kickstarter will also go towards the rental of additional film equipment, transportation, and catering for the cast and crew, plus helping us cover the submission fees for entering this short into film festivals around the globe.

Risks and challenges
Filmmaking would not be as fun nor as challenging as it is without a bit of risk. Bringing together hardworking and successful Heads of Departments, however, we believe we've got the right team that can take on this challenge.
Our main areas of concern will be:
Location: Authenticity is one of our main concerns, so it is imperative for us to bring that through with our choice of location. As such, we're aiming to film at either a hospital set or in an actual hospital ward. We have recruited a number of location experts to ensure that we find the best location to bring our story to life.
Set dec: We're bringing on a Production Designer who'll be responsible for the look and feel of the location. As our story takes place in a hospital, this HOD will be ensuring all the details are accurate and look great on screen.
Make-up: We'll be bringing on a Make-up professional to ensure that Emma, the mother in our story, as well as the other hospital extras look the part. This HOD will work with our medical consultant to ensure true-to-life representation of the characters.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
