“In So Many Words” is a surreal look at life, love, and societal standards. It embodies the struggle between social enforcement and individuality, depicting the changes one endures in the journey to find self-acceptance within the pressure to conform.

The film relies heavily on visual metaphor, creating certain opposing dichotomies between characters and viewpoints. The film relates these themes through the eyes of a man and woman caught up in this monochromatic world, as they strive for independence, love, and acceptance. Their attempts are challenged by a mechanized society and a pressure to conform, as both characters run dangerously close to losing their individuality.

This short film will be shot in Sacramento and Stockton California on July 28th and 29th.  The funding for this will be to pay for insurance and permits to shoot on the streets, logistical items for cast and crew, props, promotion and festival entries. Your help is greatly needed! Anything raised past the $1500 mark will go straight into additional marketing and promotion of this film.

Primary Crew:

Darrell Lewis - Writer, Director, Producer

Darrell started his film studies at a the young age of thirteen, making short films at very modest budgets in his back yard and surrounding areas in his home city of Sacramento. This garnered him the basic and essential knowledge of filmmaking as he often took on all of the responsibilities of production himself. He often found his knowledge to be of great use in the school system by winning film festivals and even inspiring his junior high school to start a filmmaking class. Since then he has spent his time writing and attempting to get a number of larger projects off the ground. Recently he began joining other local filmmakers on their projects, some of which found major success at film festivals, and networking with the talent pool in the area. This marks his first self produced film in nearly a decade which he is eager for everyone to see.

Kaira - Producer

Kaira brings a combination of many years of business, project/product management, marketing and leadership, plus a passion for acting and film. She started acting and modeling as a young girl, then proceeded to focus her career in business, while acting on the side. Years later, she realized how combining her passions through "producing" was a perfect fit.  Kaira has worked as Producer for multiple Indie films.  She has a B.A. in Psychology with honers from UCSC and additionally studied at Bryn Mawr College, Columbia University, and overseas in Paris and Vienna.

Brandon Morgan - DP, Editor

Having over 10 years of editing and production experience, Brandon has continually raised the bar in every project he's worked on.  With multiple documentary style and drama shorts under his belt, including the award winning short "The Prosecution", Brandon's work speaks highly to his talent and commitment to great cinema.
