Think back to your last live concert. Sound engulfs you. You can hear every instrument from its place on stage. Every sound as the singer struts around. You hear others clapping, screaming, talking, from all around you, at all at the same time. It's overpowering and amazing.
Whether you are listening to live music or your home theater, when you put on headphones that big “open” sound is now stuck inside your head...it’s unnatural, uncomfortable, and underwhelming. How can you bring that life-like experience to your headphones. Rondo!
Introducing Rondo Motion: the first affordable wireless motion sensor for headphones

Rondo Motion works out of the box with Rondo Player for iOS (FREE download available). A single button press quickly pairs Rondo Motion with your device, then you are on your way. Rondo Player uses proprietary technology to pull the sounds out of your headphones to create a more life-like and realistic sound. However, as you move your head, even just a small amount, the sounds in your headphone move with you, thus collapsing the life-like surround experience. This has always been a problem with 3D audio systems, until now...Rondo Motion continually sends your head motion to Rondo Player which then adjusts the audio sent to your headphones keeping all the sounds fixed in space as you move around. The result is the privacy of headphones with the quality and experience of not wearing headphones.
This technology hasn't been commercially viable until now. Low-latency motion sensing technology + fast and power-smart wireless connectivity + high-performance processing are all needed to make this product a reality. We've wanted to build Rondo Motion for many years and we are happy to finally be able to offer it to you!
Ultra-compatible: The Rondo Motion band design allows it to attach easily to your existing over-the-ear / on-ear headphones (no earbud attachment) so you can enjoy the benefits of Rondo Motion without having to buy new headphones.
6-axis motion sensing: At the heart of Rondo Motion is a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyro. So, no matter how you move Rondo Motion has you tracked!
Bluetooth-enabled wireless: Leveraging the latest in Bluetooth connectivity (Bluetooth v4.0 - Low Energy) to ensure low power consumption, fast pairing, and reliable communication for today's and tomorrow's devices.
16 hours+ of continuous usage: Rondo's lithium battery ensures continuous listening to immersive music for more than 16 full hours. And when you need to listen to more it quickly recharges via USB!

Rondo Motion currently works with Rondo Player for iOS. We are in the process of developing this app for OSX and Android. Your support helps make this possible!
Rondo Motion will work out of the box with the Rondo Music Player for iOS (Android and OSX versions in development). However, there are a number of different applications we are excited about in a broad range of markets, including:

The History of the Design
One of the most difficult design problems was to not just to make sure the device was small and had a long-lasting battery, but we wanted the sensor to work with as many different styles / designs of headphones as possible. So we spent a lot of time looking at various ways you could attach a motion sensor to headphones. We looked at adhesives, velcro, magnets and various band ideas before we decided on the final design. Even a cleaver band design has to be evaluated to make sure the case is able to be injection molded.
Our band solution keeps the sensor firmly attached to the headphones (it won't get knocked off when bumped...like magnetic attachments), doesn't require any modifications to the headphones, and stretches to account for headphones of different shapes and sizes.

Why we are seeking funding?
We are excited to finally bring this product to market! We've done all the hard work from R&D to prototyping and final production planning. Now we need your support get the device FCC approved, buy all the components, and begin manufacturing.
