Last 3 days of campaign: Shadows Installation Video

Posted by Anna Daedalus and Kerry Davis (Creator)

Here are the twelve final photograms, temporarily installed at an old Portland warehouse. Four of them are on view through August 11 at the Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center. We can still use your support as those unexpected technical difficulties had related costs. We'd so appreciate any help you can give in these last 3 days of our campaign to cover those expenses.

Special thanks to Leo Daedalus / fluxmotiv for the video!

Update: Video from the darkroom

Posted by Anna Daedalus and Kerry Davis (Creator)

THANK YOU to everyone who helped us meet our goal! We are so moved by the outpouring of generosity for this project.

However, Shadows still needs further support.

Despite careful planning we hit some unexpected technical difficulties, which is no small thing given the cost of the specialized photographic roll paper we’re using. But — we solved the problem, and the final prints are truly remarkable. We hope you’ll help us cover the unforeseen expenses in the remaining 17 days of our campaign.

And any surplus funds will allow us to pursue additional exhibition opportunities, both nationally and internationally!

Watch the video to follow the darkroom process, from scrolling the 7-foot images through custom-built trays, to patient washing and, finally, to drying them on screens we made with salvaged lumber.

We’re now preparing to install the Shadows at the Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center for the June 6 opening. Portlanders, we hope you’ll come out!

Peace,

Anna Daedalus and Kerry Davis
