Balyolu Is One-Years-Old!

Today marks the the New Years and spring holiday of Nowruz or Nevruz, celebrated from the Balkans and Caucasus to the Middle East and Central Asia. This day ushers in the first day of spring, and with it, represents birth, new life, and rejuvenation. Zoroaster of Zoroastrianism  supposedly invented the holiday and has been compelling celebrators to jump fires, dance, and paint eggs in commemoration for nearly 3,000 years.

Incidentally, by a lucky coincidence, today is Balyolu's official one year anniversary! Exactly a year ago, we registered as an official US and Turkish company and celebrated the Nevruz way - by starting something new.

Today, as we greet spring, birth, and bees, we just wanted to come back to our roots and place of origin - right here on Kickstarter - to say a few words of thanks to all of you who were the kindle to our fire. It has been such a pleasure to know you and correspond with you over this past year and in some cases, to even have you come visit us in our remote home out in Eastern Turkey.

I am happy to announce that we are continuing into 2013 with tours, beekeeping, and more. To learn more, check out our flyer below.

In the meantime, happy spring and happy anniversary!
