International News!

We are the 7th most funded film of all time on Kickstarter. We are climbing to the top with 6 days to go. Thank you everyone!

So what’s the next goal? International. Once we get to $270k, we’ll be adding a big trip to the itinerary. We’ll film at the Galacon Convention in Stuttgart, Germany on August 11 & 12th and BUCK BronyUKCon in Manchester, England on August 18th and 19th .

We are looking for MLP fans that fit these descriptions. If one of these sounds like you, please email your story, your name, phone number, city you live in and a picture to

• Military Bronies who are living in Arizona specifically.

• A parent and son in his 20’s who are both fans and have bonded over MLP.

• An adult Brony who has Aspergers, Autism or other syndrome or disorder and has been helped by the show.

• Bronies living in the Southern California area with interesting lives and stories to tell.

It is important to note, this is just one of a few rounds of casting. Because we are looking for specific stories does not mean we have excluded others. We have received lots of emails and already have stories we don't need to cast for. We are also still considering all stories already sent to us.

We are running a contest looking for one piece of art that will be issued as a limited edition print for contributors to the Kickstarter campaign.

The winner will receive a $500 cash price and have an opportunity to meet Tara Strong, Lauren Faust and John de Lancie at BronyCon.

 The contest starts soon at:

When will you be filming in sothern california. Because I'm living in Colorado now, but in September I'm moving to Southern California. So I could qualify for one of those.

Oen last thought on this issue: maybe they'll feature at least two autistic people, one high-functiong and another at the other end of the spectrum. A few years ago I attended an autism support group with my mom and the speaker said her affected son (around my age I think) loved Thomas the tank engine. To be honest I thought that was a little odd at the time, forgive me for saying that, but now that I've found MLP, it's not so strange.

Can't wait to see the documentary crew at Galacon! :D

I suffer from epilepsy which is triggered by stress and sleep deprivation. I told my neurologist that watching the show after a stressful day at work or in stress in general made me feel good and chilled out along with playing video games. He said for me to continue watching, and doing what I'm doing and said he might even look into the show himself.

Technically my neurologist has prescribed a healthy "dash" of MLP and video games. YAY!

Good job bronies! We did it :D

    9. Jacob Gibson on June 7, 2012

You mean three fellow aspies! :) Sorry, I couldn't help myself. So, if someone is selected to be cast in the movie will they record themselves talking and send it to the studio or will you guys come to them? Maybe it depends?

    10. 1Animeculture on June 6, 2012

Huh, interresting, two fellow aspies i see.
well /) And yeah, im in the same situation, I can't say exactly that MLP helped me, but it sure gave me some entertainment and lectures about the simple things in life :)

    11. Daniel Hengels on June 6, 2012

It will be interesting to see who they pick for some of these categories, will they find someone with more severe symptoms that has been helped, or go with someone that at first glance seems normal but still has struggles due to their condition.

Any good things said/shown about the helping powers of good entertainment is nice though. Good to show that not everyone is the same, some people get their intellectual stimulation from parties, I get it from reading blogs, programming and watching shows and playing games.

    12. Bryan Hurst on June 5, 2012

You know, it sounds interesting as I am on the spectrum, but I know there are more interesting people out there than myself. Plus I'm not really sure how I could say MLP has helped me, except I talk to more people regularly. But that is only because the fanbase is just so friendly. I hope the person who does get chosen has fun!

    13. Daniel Hengels on June 5, 2012

It can be hard to communicate with people when you have any disability, especially one that few people understand. And I also know the felling of not knowing what to do in the future, I've been trying for years to find long term employment. I hope we both find something we are good at:)

    14. Jacob Gibson on June 5, 2012

Sorry! My comment posed twice and I don't think I can remove it. Or can I?

I forgot to ask something anyway. If this documentary becomes an international project... does that mean we might change the name of the movie? :)

    15. Jacob Gibson on June 5, 2012

Oh good, a section for people with disabilities! I too have been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrom but I don't know if I fit your category. Although I've really enjoyed FiM and it was awesome discovering a new favorite show, I can't say it's helped me a lot. Well... maybe a little. My biggest struggle involves communicating with most people and I often feel uncomfortable and don't know how to act, so consequently, perhaps, I often prefer to be alone. I suppose the show has reminded me about the importance and joy of being with friends and how nothing replaces that. Second, I'm not entirely sure what to aim for for my future and that has been discouraging, but the Cutie Mark Crusader episodes have encouraged me and reminded me that we all have talents to share with the world and we all are a part of God's calling. (That part I got elsewhere) Twilight Sparkle is the character I relate to best since she's always reading and always does her best, even to the point of going crazy! I don't know, that wouldn't be much to say.

      @Tyler Stan
Tbank you for your service. We have lots and lots and lots of military Bronies. Looking for AZ specifically at this point.

    17. Tyler Stan on June 5, 2012

I'm A Military Brony in So. Cal. if that counts for anything

Well it's too late to say this, but I hoped the artwork would be done by Lauren Faust herself. Then again, I should be grateful that Mrs. Faust is partaking in this project at all.

    19. Michael Brockhoff 2-time creator on June 4, 2012

      @John Warren
The artwork should not include a logo or wording, it should just be something that contributors would be happy to have hanging on their wall.
      @Adam Westrum
To make it special we do not plan on releasing it as a digital download, it will be a very nice looking physical print that had been issued using Giclée printing.

Adam Westrum on June 4, 2012

Along the same lines as John, will we be able to get a digital copy of the print in addition to the physical print?

    21. John Warren on June 4, 2012

With the 8" x 10" being representative of the documentary is there a available vector or hi-res image of the logo to use? Or is it up to the artist on how they want to approach that?

    22. feezy on June 4, 2012

Paid for my ticket to Galacon as soon as I read this :)

Well damn, i'm going to have to rescind my $150 pledge.
      And up it to $250.

      Hope you make it!

    24. L. "TakeruDavis" Flidr on June 4, 2012

I hope John, Lauren and Tara are going to Europe as well. Stuttgart is only 5 hours by car away from Prague, I am sure few other bronies from here will go as well, especially if we get to see THEM

    25. feefers on June 4, 2012

Maaaaaaan, i can't get to BUCK becuase i'm volunteering at the Olympics. Still i'll be going in 2013!

    26. Cordovan Splotch on June 4, 2012

I'm definitely going to try to make you a piece of artwork worthy of your documentary.

    27. Daniel Hengels on June 4, 2012

sounds good, a bit busy today but i'll put together a email soon.

    28. Michael Brockhoff 2-time creator on June 4, 2012

We reach each and every email so just go ahead and send your story to Thanks!

    29. Daniel Hengels on June 4, 2012

Should such a email For the casting call be titled in a specific way? I ask because I fit the Aspergers category and I'm thinking of submitting my story.
