Whats So significant about Go Kinok Go?
Kinok is a fast orange / bullet / alien / thingie. Although we heard from our friends and media partners that he looks more like a friendly toaster, his origins are currently unknown. Of course none of that doesn't change the fact that he likes to go as fast as a possible (bullet heritage!?)
This strange alien-toaster hybrid may remind you of a certain blue hedgehog who also likes to go fast but it's not all about being a speedy demon when it comes to Go Kinok Go. ُSure you can jump on your enemies like an Italian plumber but why not just blast them by turning into a crazy bullet and going past the the speed of sound? Just press the "GO" button and BOOM!
well, we're sure you've met a similar blue hedgehog who also likes to go fast before, but there's some other things that make kinok more than a speedy runner.
When playing as Kinok, there are a ton of dastardly challenges for you to overcome. Plus you may find a ton of hidden paths and objects. There is even the not so hidden fact that you can go through an entire level in the Bullet-Mode. According to some reports, even the whole game can be finished while whooshing like a bullet but that's a discussion for another day. In short, you don't need to stop, not even once because everything is designed to be sleek, fast and above all, fun.
You said Bullet-Mode. What's that?
Start with regular speed which isn't fast enough (we know). Go on. you're doing fine. You'll be speedy enough to blast through everything very soon. You, see... with enough speed, Kinok can launch into "Bullet Mode" where our friendly toaster / bullet / hero (You decide!) turns into an unstoppable speed demon. As we all know, true speed demons are also invincible. Being invincible is the ultimate encouragement for those who keep their speed. No damage, no problem. During "Bullet Mode", Kinok blasts everything in its path. Don't worry if there's a trap ahead. Now nothing can touch you. Heck, you can ignore the water when traveling at maximum speed. In short, Bullet-Mode even lets you run on water.
What happens when an alien controlled by another "alien" comes to earth?Everything will bow to their will, of course. Everything except for a mysterious creature named Kinok who ends up blasting through the alien's minions in order to achieve his own mysterious goals. There's also something about an overambitious news reporter but don't let him distract you from the heart of Go Kinok Go which is platforming in beautifully hand drawn worlds and doing it with speed and style.
So, when and how was Kinok born?
Go Kinok go was created three years ago when our team came up with a speedy idea.
The game was originally planned as a 2.5D title for Unreal Engine 3 but due to various incidents ("That incident!") along the way, Red Cap Games decided to move to the current game engine. Of course while Construct 2 might be a little simpler than Epic's Unreal Engine, that doesn't make Go Kinok go any less fast or crazy.
The art design itself took almost over a year, where our artists hand painted all the world working in collaboration with our designers to create a dynamic and beautiful universe. From breezy mountains to lush jungles, players can now travel to various exotic and eastern locations while facing various vicious creatures who wish to block Kinok at every turn.
Let's talk about money!Go Kinok Go has consumed a decent amount of money before reaching its current phase but from now on, we need your help and support. After all, game development is both time consuming and expensive. The money from Kickstarter will be used to make sure Kinok can be as content reach and awesome as humanly possible. Making new and more varied stuff is also a given.
The Kinok project can be much more than simple but fast 2D game in Construct 2 and that's why we're here to Kick-Start the ultimate phase of Go Kinok Go. Obviously if we get funded and reach higher goals, we'll upgrade to the new and next-gen Unreal Engine 4 and create new levels. Also with the power of UE4, we can design a procedurally generated mode that goes on forever, challenging you to score higher each time while adding a dash of rogue-like to the core platforming gameplay.
25,000 € - THE GAME: We will complete the game as it is on Construct 2 with huge thanks to you guys and gals for helping us in bringing our vision to life.
35,000 € - UNREAL ENGINE 4: Game engine will be upgraded to Unreal Engine 4 which means next-gen graphics and smoother gameplay.
40,000 € - UPDATED SOUNDTRACK: Electronic music is awesome but not as awesome as it should be. Physical, badass music instruments are the best!
45,000 € - NEW LEVELS: Go Kinok Go is made of various worlds and levels but it can be so much more. A lot of new levels will be added, including the procedurally generated ENDLESS mode.
75,000 € - PLAYSTATION 4 VERSION: We really like consoles like PS4 We'd like to see Go Kinok Go playing on PS4! Well, here we are.
90,000 € - (HIDDEN): What is it!? And can we really reach this goal?
Risks and challenges
Over the development period, Go Kinok Go has been previewed by local magazines and showcased in a number of gaming expos such as Dubai World Game Expo. It is our goal to make sure what we're creating is worth your time. Everybody at Red Cap Game intends to find out what players want to see in an awesome platformer and then provide it for them. That's why we plan to connect with our backers through a beta system and use their invaluable input.
Obviously Go Kinok Go is not finished yet and needs some time to be completely polished and become as feature rich as we want it to. Just keep in mind that Red Cap is a very small indie team.
Thank you for your time and attention.
