HOW WE WILL USE THE FUNDS
The film will be shot on a real journey so narrative line of the movie is passing through precisely determined dramaturgical pointes, but the story itself is to be left loose enough not to prevent all the surprises real life is having in store to enrich the final result. So the film is fictional, but since the fiction is compiled out of life itself, my goal in movie making is not to stop that proces when camera is turned on. In that way my movies get unique combination of fictional play, documentary, as well as animation that is to be used only for being able to show the things that would be otherwise very expensive for realizing.
This movie is a kind of a diary, "a boat log diary", that will follow and reconstruct the things that have happened and are about to during the production proces. The shooting of the last part of the movie will start even before this Kickstarter project project will be over. That is "the part of real life" that is about to happen in January, on Hawaii. The plan for filming the rest is late April or May, depending on weather. Our funding goal is, with funds that we have by now, enough for shooting and basics of postproduction. Good sound production, color correction, final editing touches will ask for almost as much more. So feel free to contribute if the project inspires you even if the goal is already reached.
This is a film story in short
Already at the premiere of her first movie Tamara starts shooting a new one. That's why she doesn't care much when, after projection, there is not a word about movie in any newspaper. She's got an appointment. As she finishes with obligations she has with the premiere she is going to Hawaii. Her friend, Daniela, is organizing memorial service for her son, Tony, who died one year ago, holding Tamara's hand in his. Tamara wants to travel there alone, by transoceanic cargo boat where she will be filming her new story. She leaves without announcing it and without goodbye.
When she is already far away at the Ocean stowaway surprises her on the boat. It is her friend Mate. He understood her intentions and couldn’t let her so far and alone. Tamara is stunned of surprise, happy he is with her there, in the middle of nowhere, but also bit nervous that he spoiled her plan to disappear, taking this journey alone. On the boat they spend the time listening to the stories of the sailors, learning songs, basics of orientation, seas, harbours, winds, most beautiful women...
When they are close to Hawaiian Islands an immemorial tempest seizes the boat. Huge wave grabs Tamara and throws her over the fence. Mate tries with all his strength to hold her by the hand. The sea wins and takes her into dark, cold water. With the dawn Tamara finds herself floating on the broken peace of the ship, alone, surrounded with unending horizon at each side, in the middle of the Ocean. Remembering stories she heard from sailors she uses nature given guideposts to estimate her probable way. When the night falls and stars fill up the sky, she tries to find constellation that will show her direction. Yet the stars are many. She remembers the pendant over her neck with drawing of Orion Mate has made for her. Looking at it she finds desired direction. She reaches the island exhausted. Her friend, Daniela, already worried because of the length her journey took, finds her on the shore. She arrived exactly on the day the ashes of Tony’s body are to be scattered in the Ocean.
Nobody at the island, neither her friends, neither island police, nor sailors around, know anything about destiny of her friend Mate and the rest of the ship. Everybody, however, assures her they are all right.
My previous film THE SWING
I think the best way to know me is by having a glimpse into my previous film. It is called "The Swing", have had it's world premiere by the beginning of October 2012. "The Swing" is also a movie made on a journey, a road trip - East to West coast USA, and is made with almost no budget (whole film costed 10.000 $). Here is a trailer
"The Swing" is just starting it's festival life and we hope the best for her.
Risks and challenges
The approach that I have in making a movie lets it open for many un planned things to happened, risks as well. However, one of the most important things I have learned in art production is not to be afraid of it but to use all the limitations and possible turns as my advantage. Little mistake is giving a chance to you, and only to you, to find your own way to deal with it. Then it is no more mistake but part of the proces that is contributing to the final result.

Estimated schedule of shooting is: small, Hawaiian, part of the film - January; biggest part, freighter cruiser journey, is about to take place during April/May: and the smalest part happening in Belgrade is planed for June. The time might change a little bit due to weather forecast. Desired time for finishing is december this year, yet this very much depends on the funds we gather over our founding goal.
