About this project
In June of 2014 Brazil will host the World's most popular sporting event, The World Cup. I have designed 32 authentic jerseys for dogs representing each of the 32 participating nations so every dog can rep their country like the big guys do.

I grew up making soccer uniforms with my father for the local leagues. As I grew up I kept designing and as an adult established various apparel lines. I now want to use all the experience I gained in athletic wear to make soccer jerseys for dogs using the same craft and techniques used for athletic jerseys.
My Bro jerseys are made with high performance athletic fabrics like those used on professional jerseys.
The back panel is made of active dry mesh. This is a high performance management jersey that wicks away moisture for increased comfort and dryness.
The sleeves are made of open polyester mesh allowing further ease in mobility and comfort for active dogs.
All My Bro jerseys are sewn with a trimmed hem line. From my experience the hem line on active jerseys eventually falls apart due to wear and tear. I solved this problem by using a binding on the hem line that will not wear down with friction and everyday use.
The printing process for My Bro jerseys is also unique. Using an advanced printing method called sublimation primarily seen on skiing, cycling, and soccer, the design is dyed directly into the fabric. This allows garments to have vivd designs with a no feel finish. The process also creates superior and durable designs by sublimating the art work directly into the fiber of the fabric.
The right fit for dogs is hard. As a dog owner and friend to many dog owners there is always talk about finding a size that fits just right especially for barrel chested dogs. For this reason My Bro jerseys have an ample chest panel. This style pattern allows for a more relaxed fit but also allows dogs of short length but wide frames to wear proportionate jerseys without compromising on over all fit. My Bro jerseys are shorter on the front and longer on the back so the little champs don't get their jerseys dirty.
There are 32 qualifying countries in this years World Cup. Below are the designs for each country and group each team has been pooled into.
I am trying to raise $16,000 for the first run of My Bro jerseys on Kickstarter. All of the proceeds will go towards fabric, printing, sewing, and packaging. It is my dream to see every dog wearing a My Bro jersey in time for the World Cup come June of 2014. Every little champ should have a jersey like the big guys and with your help we can make this happen. Thank you, thank you, thank you for supporting my project......

Risks and challenges
There is always risk in manufacturing. Delays in materials and the construction of garments can be unpredictable. The particular issue for this project is that the World Cup will begin on June 12th, so all jerseys must be shipped by the last week of May.
The turnaround time is very short, but I am not new to manufacturing. I have been in the industry professionally for 20 years, cultivating good relationships with the people involved in each step of production, which can assure me a smooth process.
My fabric comes from a mill in California that I have worked with before, and I know their product well. They have already guaranteed me the fabric I'll need whether we just meet our goal or exceed it and the project becomes very successful.
The printed panels will be done by a knowledgable and well-known local vendor who I have worked with on various projects, and they already have all the files necessary to print small or large orders within 10 to 14 days.
On the manufacturing side of the project I count with two local factories that I myself know personally. These are two factories whose owners I know, respect, and consider my mentors. The two other local factories I've been working with for over ten years on small and large projects. All four factories are committed to helping me construct the jerseys for this project so they can be shipped out as quickly as possible.
Not only do I have a network of factories and vendors working with me on this project, but I also have many years of personal experience in organizing and manufacturing. Currently I am overseeing the production of a successful Kickstarter campaign that sold over 2,500 jeans. This was the second successful campaign after the brand launched their first campaign that sold over 1,000 jeans.
Thank you once more for your support and trust.
