      You're right about Tira Rainer.
I suspect it's someone that's behind another indigogo project - of the same nature.
Tira said at one point that we should check that other project, and when I did,
I saw that it also was/is based on an existing model on alibaba.
To while Tira did help, I have a feeling that you're right, and someone from the other project did try to "assassinate" this project.

Last one and then I will put this to rest (until Vakster emerges again with another fantastic project).

I'd like to thank all those wonderful fake backers who joined in December, supported only this project and rushed to defend the creator:
      "Eric Williams"
      "Melissa Lee"
      "Marco"
      "Romandro"
      "John Nguyen"
      "Rookie"
      "Tonya Byrne"
      "Seth Ulloa"
      "Samantha"
      "Bryan D Eisenbise"
      "Dianne Barrymore"

I would also have to add one more question to this mystery - Who's behind the user "Tira Rainer", the one who first showed us that this is a Z3 in (photoshop) disguise? That user also only appeared in December, came only to this project and campaigned vigurously to remove it. Kudos for that, but one does wonder where that person came from and how he ended up picking up only on this project, knowing exactly what the source of the scam was.

    18. Missing_small

      Creator LiLo on December 19

Btw, had some time so scrolled back on this. Kudos to Pu Hwai Ching who was the first (on December 2nd) to call "foul" on this project and its creator!

Really funny how everything is attributed to "misunderstandings". Anyone who reads through the comments here and updates in this project can clearly see what has transpired - A dodgy project owner who can't even give basic details about what he claims is his own product makes pathetic attempts to convince us that what he sells is not vaporware. When confronted with the lies/half-truths/ignornace/ridiculous claims/changing versions and plain ignoring of questions - He claims he has been "bullied".
      A real character, this dude.

    20. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Alon Walter on December 17

The article portrays a picture as if it's a case of misunderstanding, and that things depend on your point of view.
But there were brute lies (like claiming development in a local hardware comp.) and promises that cannot be fulfilled (like charging with qi through a metal casing) that either show the lack of basic understanding of engineering, or just plain fraud (probably the former, but it still bad).

Interesting article. I thought they were a little bias towards Vak but they linked to my imur photo of the response from appscomm :)

Vak was way more honest towards that article then he was to us. Why could he tell them they had a deal with appscomm but not us? Why did he not admit before that he was not hacked but was doing damage control?

I still don't trust him. He was definitely posting fake email responses in an attempt to drown the bad comments. He is also using COPYRIGHTED commercial footage from Samsoung. WHAT THE HECK!?? YOUR ADVERTISING SAMSOUNG'S WATCH AS YOUR OWN BASICALLY???

If he is such a legit start-up businessman why is he doing all base questionable things?

Are patents not usually of public record so no else can come up with the same thing or copy it. If a patent were kept secret that would enable a person to come up with the same idea on there own. Keeping a patent secret makes no sense. Don't believe these so called patents exist.

    41. C2013_pitchcelebration.ashx.small

Creator Benedict Huang on December 8

@William. Thank you for stepping up to engage with us backers. Although the project has been canned, I wish no ill will upon you and the team, but I will defend the backers if I do find the project suspicious.

Before Vak wiped his Kickstarter profile clean, I believe he listed you as the head designer or something to that effect, are we to assume this was your role whilst designing the watch? If so I hope you could answer some questions I have regarding the responsibilities you undertook.

As you've stated, you said you are not a "tech person" which is perfectly fine in itself. However in your long 30 years as a designer I am pretty sure you would have had your fair share of designing "tech toys" and as such I am pretty certain you should at the bare minimum know the basic ins and outs of a electronic product.

One of the big bugbears of the project was that we were not really told truthfully of the specs of the watch, something which should have been simple enough to disclose since consumer electronics usually are constructed using commercially available parts from vendors. As someone who is in-the-know for this project, I do hope you can disclose them. Even if you do not think it is necessary to know specs to see the "big picture", backers do have the right to know what they are backing. Thats why even everyday things like a bag of chips have a list of ingredients or a Dell PC has the specs listed on the back.

Second question I want to ask is why not disclose patents??? Again, as far as these go, they are reflected on the back the box of a product. As far as I know the USPTO does not keep patents secret unless they relate to patents concerning national security like nuclear bomb designs, NSA computer specifications or the F22 Raptor thrust vectoring technology. Yet when some concerned backers attempted to search for patents filed by Vak, yourself or others on the Rock team, nothing can be found. So did you guys actually patent nothing or did you invent something that can hack the NSA's supercomputers???

Third, as the chief designer, you've stated in the post you've seen the Rock. Was it purely a mockup design or was it a fully functional watch?? At the start of the KickStarter campaign, it was stated the watch could be delivered by April 2014 which is consistent with the date reflected on the pledge levels written on the right. Am I to assume the watch is in an advanced stage of development with software??? Or where are you guys if not at that stage???

Thats all I got for you. I hope you can answer these as truthfully as you can. I don't think I'm even going to ask you about the Z3 because when your project has raised as many red flags as it has the last thing I want you to tell me is that you ripped the Rock design off the Z3 too. As it is, we've learnt that the project creator, Vak was uncommunicative when posed with rudimentary questions and often dodged them. He also started padding the comments section to erase negative reports and planted fake backers to prop up support for the project. Would a legitimate project need to resort to such??? I do hope you are someone with a little more integrity than Vak.

As KS backers, we support projects not only because we think it is cool, but also because we want the idea to grow and develop so we may reap the rewards of the project. No one actively seeks out KickStarter projects to get them canned, or at least no one I know of does this. The projects themselves get themselves canned because they do not contain solid ideas or in the case of this project, raise too many red flags.

@William : isn't it a bit late to come forward and try to defend the Rock, why not do that when people asked all the questions? Most of the backers didn't want the Z3 or other already made watches that are just pimped with more apps not useful to everyone. I thought Kickstarter was about innovation, and one of a kind projects.

@william the real "big picture" here is that vak was trying to pass off an already existing piece of hardware as his own, and when asked specific details about said product he, A. Could not deliver an answer to ANY question, B. Deliberately dodged said questions, and C. Spammed the kickstarter page in order to push down any negative press due to his own actions... That is not the conduct of someone who's product is "real" he as the creator WAY before even coming to KS should have and WOULD HAVE the detailed specifications of the product he's trying to push. I've seen projects on here made by actual children that provided more info and better customer relations than vak did.

Oh yeah, forgot how, after exposing his watch already exists and is for sale, he pretended that someone "copied his watch" and started the legal mumbo jumbo. "Will talk to our lawyers" became the standard answer. Very trustworthy and confidence builiding..

    46. Missing_small

      Creator LiLo on December 8

@William, even if I take all you wrote as Gospel, what has transpired here has one person to blame - Vak.

You say all pics/videos are real? Then how come you cannot show the apps in a clear and easy way? Why claim the watch was made by your company (i was here before he changed the homepage, it was a clearly misleading presentation)? Why evade basic questions that are obviously important and should be super easy to answer if you actually have a working watch? And why set up and use fake users to generate support for the campaign instead of just telling how things are?

Had he simply come here and said "we got a great deal on an oem watch, developed great apps to enhance the experience, here is a video clearly showing how it works (not wannabe marketing style BS) and we give it at a great price" this project would still be here.
