Get ready to campaign for president against your friends. Will you fight clean and work to merely benefit your campaign, or will you mudsling at your opponents using deceitful tactics?
Inspired by the current political race of 2016 and never ending corruption that grows in the wake of politicians everywhere, we came about our first game; Ab$olute Corruption: A Game About The Modern American Campaign Process.
Game Overview
This presidential election game can be played by 2-4 candidates as young as 6 ready to campaign for president! Players can take actions that hurt other competing candidates, benefit themselves and their party by fundraising, or get greedy with a SuperPac. During Polls, each candidate will have their chance to win delegates from states across the country. In some aspects you will work together with members of the same party while in all others you are against them. This games takes 2 minutes to learn and 15-30 minutes to play. Do you have what it takes to run for President?
The Rules Are Simple
Play any number of cards from your hand and follow the directions on the card(s).
To end your turn, draw one card from the Campaign deck. If it's a Poll, play it immediately!
You now have the chance to wager your cards to win states and delegate points. Think ahead about whether or not it is worth the wager! If someone bids higher they win the state!
The game proceeds clockwise. (If somehow you’re not sitting in a circle, it’s the player to your left.)
The first candidate to earn 27 delegate points or the player with the highest delegate count when the State deck runs out becomes President.
That's it. (Simple right?)
How to Play
Ab$olute Corruption is quick to set up, easy to pick up, and fun to play.
Goal
We need $10,000 to do a full production run of our base game that includes both Progressive and Conservative cards and 35 States!
Stretch Goals
With the support of our backers we will be able to add some awesome upgrades to our game!
1000 Social Media Followers - PREMIUM CARD STOCK - If we get 1000 Facebook Likes, 1000 Twitter Followers, and 1000 Instagram Followers, we will print all of our cards on premium card stock. Otherwise it will just be on high quality cardstock, which is still pretty good.
$25k - MODERATE EXPANSION PACK - We will offer a new reward option to all backers, a Moderate Expansion Pack! This set of cards increases the number of players to 6 and includes more States and more Campaign cards with a new party!
$50k - UPGRADED BALLOT BOX FOR ALL! - We will ship all of our games in an upgraded ballot box that can fit two copies of the the base game AND the Moderate Expansion Pack!
$75k - DEMOCRAT & REPUBLICAN ALTERNATIVE PACK- We will offer another new reward option to all backers, a Democrat & Republican Alternative Pack! This is a whole new version of the game that includes the two most popular parties in the American Political Establishment and can be played by 2-4 players.
$100k - EXCLUSIVE COLLECTOR'S GAME - We will offer one last new reward option to all backers, a Kickstarter Exclusive Collector’s Edition of Ab$olute Corruption! This version of the game will include the base game of Progressive and Conservative cards, the Moderate Expansion Pack with Moderate cards, and the Democrat & Republican Alternative Pack with Democrat and Republican cards allowing 10 total players and hours of fun!
Risques et défis
This is our first project on Kickstarter together. However, we have both been working creatively for over a decade now, and we have a lot of experience seeing complex ventures through. This game has been extensively playtested with help from PrintandPlayGames. We worked extensively with our favorite artists. So all that needs to happen once the campaign closes is for everything to be sent off to the printers and then mailed out! We're partnering with AdMagic and Blackbox, innovative pioneers in this industry with tons of experience to make sure our game is well built and shipped on time.
