THE LONG-AWAITED MIKE PLOOG CAREER RETROSPECTIVE ART BOOK IS HERE!
Hello, fellow Ploog fans! We are happy to tell you that the wait is over. Finally, a comprehensive art book on Mike Ploog is in the works. This 9" x 12", 320-page retrospective will cover almost every aspect of Mike’s career, from his earliest days of working with “Leatherneck Magazine,” while he was still in the Marines, right up through his latest work on “Goliath.” “The Art of Ploog” will contain, quite literally, hundreds of pieces of art from throughout his career, as well as commentary by the master himself.
You’ll find all his best known works in this book. Included is the work he did for Marvel comics (on titles such as “Frankenstein,” “Ghost Rider,” “Planet of the Apes,” and “Werewolf By Night”), as well as a wide range of his film work on animated features (such as “Lord of the Rings,” “Prince of Egypt,” “Shrek,” and “Wizards”) and live-action features (including “Little Shop of Horrors,” “John Carpenter's THE THING,” and “X-MEN”). The book will also contain many of his most popular paintings; paintings that were created for his own fantasy art trading card series; as well as paintings he worked on for the collectible card games “Guardians” and “Magic the Gathering,” most of which have never been reproduced larger than trading card size. It’s the ultimate collection spanning his entire career.
This is the book for all our fellow Ploogies out there. We hope you’ll join us for the most comprehensive work ever produced on the magical worlds of Mike Ploog.

A NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING
WITHIN THE UNITED STATES:
All domestic pledge amounts include USPS Media Mail shipping, except where noted in the final two reward tiers.
There are limited options for international shipping. Based on the size and weight of each book, we are unable to offer the less expensive first-class mail option which has size restrictions and a four-pound limit. International orders must be shipped using International Priority Mail, which is, unfortunately, more expensive. We value every pledge and apologize that we must pass this expense along to you. It is important to note that taxes and fees vary by country. Please be aware that international orders may be subject to a duty tax by your local postal station.
Thanks to all of our supporters, we have reached our first stretch goal! Now EVERY REWARD LEVEL will also receive a set of five 8" x 10" high-quality, full-color prints.

THANKS SO MUCH!
We are thrilled to have reached our second stretch goal of $80,000! Now, EVERY REWARD LEVEL will also receive an 8.5" x 11", 64-page softcover book containing several of Mike's storyboard sequences.
These drawings will be reproduced close to actual size to showcase the creativity Mike put into each storyboard and display the beautiful, detailed pencil work of each drawing.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Here we are in the final week of our campaign! Thank you so much to all of our backers! We are very grateful to each and every one of you for your support.
In our quest to continue to reach more fans for "THE ART OF PLOOG," we have added a very cool third Stretch Goal at the $100,000 mark.
If we reach this goal, each reward level will also receive an autographed print by Mike Ploog! This hand signed, frame-worthy, high quality print will be a real tip-of-the-hat to Mike's famous 1972 cover art from "Werewolf By Night #1!" The image size will be the same as the original bronze-age comic that it pays homage to, and it will be STRICTLY LIMITED to the exact amount of pledges this Kickstarter campaign receives. Plus, just like the first two Stretch Goals, there is no additional shipping cost.
Please continue to help us spread the word about “THE ART OF PLOOG!”
Risks and challenges
When it comes to publishing such a large, comprehensive art book, our biggest challenge was compiling all of the artwork. Well, we have completed that task! Now, it's time to shoot sharp, high quality film on large pieces, and create crystal clear, high-resolution scans from smaller works.
Extensive interviews have been done with Mike Ploog, completed over a two-week time span, so it's now time for the editorial team to get to work matching art with words.
There are zero risks that this book will not be produced. We are passionate about this project. Simply stated: It's long overdue for an extensive, coffee table art book on Mike Ploog, and we won't let his fans down!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
