Every day, the government shadow agency called Project Skin Horse does its best to aid America's nonhuman citizens. Whether hunting Jersey Devils, delving into an unsettling cute VR world, or just helping out a couple of talking opossums, Skin Horse is ready for almost anything. But the team's latest missions will force it to confront its inner demons and sacrifice its best outfits...
"This is a long-running series... But it’s worth reading from the beginning. You’ll be glad you did."
— Stephen Geigen-Miller, The Skiffy & Fanty Show
Shaenon K. Garrity here. My co-creator, Jeffrey C. Wells, and I have been writing and drawing Skin Horse as a daily webcomic since 2008. In past years, with the generous support of Kickstarter backers, we've published five collections. Now we're getting even more ambitious. With your help, we'll be publishing Volumes 7 and 8 simultaneously.
Volume 7 covers the storylines "Looking-Glass Land," "Can't Catch Me," and "What Big Teeth." Volume 8 includes "Purple Waves," "Yes Virginia," "Fun for Some," and "Sure as You're Born." Each volume will also include an new bonus story. Volume 7 will have in introduction written by acclaimed graphic novelist Dylan Meconis (Family Man, The Long Con, the upcoming Queen of the Sea), while the intro to Volume 8 will be written by legendary webcartoonist Christopher Baldwin (Little Dee, Spacetrawler).
"I love conversations where everyone’s slightly insane in completely unrelated ways."
— Daniel Kelly, The Webcomics Review
We're asking $10,000 to print these two rad books. Depending on your pledge, you can get books (both print and ebook editions), sketches, original art, the opportunity to be drawn into the strip, and even a week doing Jeff's job as chief scripter.
Throughout the campaign, we'll unlock additional bonus levels and stretch goals. So keep watching this space!
Thanks to Pancha Diaz, our colorist and book designer, for making this book look so darn good.
And thanks to all of you in advance for supporting Skin Horse.
Risks and challenges
We've previously published six volumes of Skin Horse, almost all of them funded through Kickstarter. We foresee no problems in the publication of the new volumes. We plan to have the books out by the end of 2019.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
