Artprize 2013 will be witness to pure black magic in the form of a sinister sculptural installation sure to captivate your very soul.
The provocative work of the artist Killian Skarr will be included in this year's Artprize, an international art show based in Grand Rapids, MI that boasts the largest cash prize of any art show in the world. The artist's installation will display 10 disturbingly compelling sculptures that challenge the viewer to look beyond their dark nature to the inherent beauty of their forms.
Artprize is the largest art competition of its kind with
1,524 artist entries representing 47 countries and 45 states at 169 venues.
Artists will compete for a combination of public votes and juried prizes to
secure part of the world’s largest art prize, totaling $560,000. Artprize was
named one of the top five festivals to visit in 2013 by Time magazine. The competition
will take place Sept. 18-Oct. 6.
Artprize describes itself as being a “radically open” art competition and Killian Skarr’s art promises to test the limits of this definition. The artist's response; "The art world is about to be shown just how painful art can be- Killian Skarr is going to Artprize."
All of the premiums can be picked up in person during the first week of Artprize or shipped directly to you shortly thereafter.
Show your support for the extreme and dark side of art by helping Killian show the artworld just how painful art can be!

Killian has vowed to show his art, "even if I have to drag it there crucifixion style…” but with your help the enormous cost of transporting (Truck rental, plus the cost of fuel, insurance and lodging will put the amount of expenditures above the $2000 goal) his seductively sinister sculptures will not make him an art world martyr; just yet.
And in exchange for your monetary support Killian will provide you with gifts to more than satiate the Devil within you.
