Ever Upward: Overcoming the Lifelong Losses of Infertility to Own a Childfree Life is my debut book being published by Morgan James Publishing launching October 1st. Ever Upward is my first book about how I have changed my life after the losses (financially and emotionally) of infertility treatments. I hope to change the landscape of the conversation surrounding infertility, breaking the shamed silence. Moreover, I want to give us all permission to break this silence for our recoveries, as we all have something we must recover from in this life.
This is ever upward; we must talk about it, embrace it, practice recovery from it and own it all. You can read more about my story and ever upward at my blog, www.everupward.org.
IVF is expensive and so is publishing a book and frankly we just don't have it in the budget for the amazing book trailer this book deserves. We envision several versions of a book trailer; documentary style, featuring different interview settings with myself, including footage of some of my morning routine (Chapter 4- Choosing Change) and also graphics to honor the beautiful book cover.
Why a book trailer?
A book trailer is a great way to introduce a new author to the world. People are much more likely to click and watch a video than click and read a post, especially about such topics as silenced as infertility, miscarriage, infant loss, trauma, loss and mental health. A book trailer is also the best way for my readers, and the world, to be introduced to me; as the author, the mental health therapist, the engaging speaker (hopefully you get a taste of that in my interview above) and as just someone trying to put one foot in front of the other when life didn't quite turn out how you had hoped.
We have exciting ideas for a trailer with potential budgets of $5,000-15,000 (at least $10,000 for amazing 3D graphics). Please make sure to notice the backer rewards!
Thank you so much for your time and consideration and your financial support! This book, especially the book trailer, would not be possible without the love, support and generosity of so many. Much like bringing a baby into this world and raising an amazing human being, it takes a village!
I hope you find some light in my story to find your own ever upward!
Risks and challenges
My biggest challenge is not having the financial ability to film the trailer, beyond that the biggest road block with be scheduling. However, this is a major priority for me and we will make this the top priority in the marketing of the book.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
