Guy was really looking forward to being on this book tour with me. He was enormously sad when he realized it would never happen. He apologized to me repeatedly (which broke my heart) and I assured him he had done all the heavy lifting and I could take it from here. It's funny, I've witnessed Guy's sarcasm with others but with me, during the writing of the book, he was earnest and forthcoming and sincere. It was important to him and I'm grateful that we got it done.

Tamara, it was great seeing you in Tulsa! Guy's story is mesmerizing... I can't put the book down! Guy, Susanna and Townes' spirits flow through your words. Thanks for transporting me to their magical world.

Yeah, I can picture Guy's spirit following you around, wryly grateful and sarcastic, whispering, "Lady, thanks for doing this but why in the hell did you sign up this anyway?" There's a kind of spirit among blue collar poets that really don't like the grind until it has to be done, and then they do it will. Back when I thought I might be a song writer, I wrote this -- probably before you were born -- 'Dreamt you dreams and did them well, kiss your lovers, tell the others to go to hell..." LA Freeway probably had something to do with that...

Congratulations! Wish I could have pledged more as I did pledge to a Doug Sahm kickstart at the approximate same time sort of left me short,Dougs kickstart appears to have stalled ,oh well I look forward to the book.
