Michael, thanks for that link. I have our legal counsel (who is working gratis at the moment!) checking into best options, which seems to be an LLC. I don't think we are eligible for 501(c)3 but I will ask that question. Pat, I believe there will be a DVD available but I couldn't make that as part of the reward this early because I don't know what our distribution plan is yet. Once we have a distributor in place (after the film is finished) then we will get to that part. Thank you everyone, again, for your support. Please continue to pass the word and let's get this thing to 5000 people!
Such wonderful news - Great job everyone, thank you Tamara and everyone for putting this together!
Hi, and many, many congratulations! It doesn't surprise me that you have made the target so quickly – what is $75,000 against the pleasure Guy's music has spread around the world (including here in the UK) – that is priceless! One thing you haven't mentioned in the aims of the project is producing a DVD version of the film – can I suggest putting some of the addition funds towards this? (I say DVD rather than Blu-Ray because US Blu-Rays don't generally play in non-US players, whereas DVDs can be produced as Region 0, i.e. compatible across all regions.) Is this a possibility, or are there additional problems that make this too difficult to consider? I'd happily increase my basic pledge if a DVD version were added to the rewards!
This makes my heart so happy! Congratulations! Gah, I am so excited about this!! It will all work out if the dear lords'a willin' and the creeks don't rise! Yay!
I've contributed to several Kickstarter Campaigns over the years, and I have to say that I have seen campaigns seeking less close out in a week or so, but to hit this target this quickly says something. I have a post about this up on my semi-closed site at typepad and will be submitting it to Veterans Today in a couple of days. I'll be happy to add the news that you've hit the target, but the idea of increasing the participation is pretty cool. One other thing, I am not sure the LLC is the best way to go. A 501-c-3 would pretty much eliminate the need for any taxes and since the purpose would be the production and release of the single project, should qualify as an artistic endeavor. However, one thing Austin has besides musicians -- and Nashville has besides musicians -- are lawyers, and consult one of them first. Congrats on meeting the goal so quickly. Thrilled to be able to contribute in a monetary sense to this project. Good luck, I can't wait to see the end result.
