The year was 1978 and Christian music was quickly gaining the attention of the entire music world. That summer a magazine was born that would become the flagship publication of the burgeoning industry, and synonymous with Contemporary Christian Music—CCM. For the next 30 years, CCM led the way with in-depth, exclusive industry coverage and helped launch numerous artists and ministries through the engagement of its community of Christian music fans. Then CCM converted the print publication into an online-only format in April 2008. Since then, CCM has continued to give voice to the Christian music community, but only through its digital platforms. THAT'S ABOUT TO CHANGE!
Everywhere we go we hear readers and fans echo what we've been thinking—they miss the print version. We do too! So we’ve decided to join forces with the artists, labels, and friends of CCM to do whatever it takes to BRING BACK CCM in print because for those of us at CCM, this isn’t just a job. We’re fans just like you! Like you, we’ve been touched by this music and, like you, we want to see the magazine that helped build this industry word by word, song by song, back in the hands of our friends, families and communities.
With your help, we will re-launch CCM Magazine into print beginning with a 35th Anniversary Tribute Edition! We have been assured from the powers that be, that once we demonstrate the desire of fans like you to hold a beautifully designed issue of CCM in your hands, they’ll support us in helping to raise the additional support needed to BRING CCM BACK in print.
Phase 1 – The 35th Anniversary Tribute Edition
Help get CCM Magazine back in our homes and communities by joining the launch team and funding our Kickstarter project. Your support proves to leadership that you all want to BRING BACK CCM in print and will help fund the 35th Anniversary Tribute Edition.
The extra-large, 160+ page CCM 35th Anniversary Collector's Edition will be chock-full of exclusive interviews, gorgeous photos, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into the music you love.
Phase 2 – A Future Subscription Drive
Once we meet our Phase 1 goal, we will begin our subscription drive to re-launch a bimonthly print edition of CCM Magazine in 2014. You, as a launch team member, will get exclusive opportunities to subscribe at a special rate as well as have lots of opportunities to win great prizes.
WHAT YOUR MONEY IS FOR
Our Kickstarter Goal was set as low as possible and is based on the raw costs of printing and delivering 20,000 copies of a 160+ page, super-high-quality CCM Bookazine. Those expenses only include the actual “Hard Costs” of printing, paying image rights and the other costs associated with producing and delivering the CCM 35th Anniversary Tribute Edition. All other expenses - writing, design, management and overhead - will be covered by the CCM Team that currently operates the CCM Magazine website and produces the weekly newsletter – CCM InTune.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
As Christian music fans, here's why bringing CCM Magazine back into print is important, and why it's hard.
There is a perception by some that print magazines are a thing of the past and many companies have bought into that idea. Well, that's bunk! You’ve made it clear to us that you want to experience CCM Magazine in print and bring it back into your home where you can share it with family and friends.
We need your help to prove to corporate America, the big box retailers and anyone with a magazine worth writing that it's possible to start a project with a grassroots show of support and do it right here on Kickstarter. Bringing CCM Magazine back into print is an experiment in bucking the trends of the magazine world and an invitation to challenge your friends who love music to help us all once again have this beloved publication in our homes and communities.
CCM Magazine is poised to focus the power of the Christian music fan and demonstrate that there are substantial rewards to people who believe in the power of the message and who are willing to stand up and stand out. For too long, we've been seduced into believing we should go with the flow. It's time to redefine and demonstrate what the Christian music industry, the artists and the fans are really capable of.

The easiest way to buy a print copy of The CCM 35th Anniversary Tribute Edition, is to scan down the column on the right and select the reward package that you are most interested in. If you can't see the right column, you're probably viewing the websight on a mobile phone, which for some reason doesn't always display the Kickstarter rewards column.
If that's the case, get on a laptop, tablet or desktop device and visit www.BringBackCCM.com - which will take you straight to this Kcikstarter - and then check out the reward packages. You can get the physical magazine for as little as $18, with the Early-Bird Special. There is also an amazing deal on the $30, Retro Package - which includes 14 great music downloads, a CCM Retro T-Shirt, The 35th Anniversary Tribute Edition and much, much more!
Have no fear! Once the project closes we will send out a survey asking you for both your size and color preference. We can guarantee the right size shirt an will do our best to accommodate the correct color -although we have a limited number of the colors in certain sizes.
