Frequently Asked Questions
All rewards for “custom miniature coupon(s)” are presented as coupons, and as such, are good indefinitely. This allows you to redeem at any point and even for future releases and features.
The shipping included is good for one shipment though- so if you split up your purchase (which you can do!), you will have to pay for shipping again. Sorry...Last updated:
Tricky question! Our full Character Foundry will be up and running August 1st, when we debut at Gen Con. We are currently gunning for a weeks turnaround (1-2 days to print, 3-6 days of shipping in the US), but a two week turnaround is a bit more likely (especially if we have a huge backlog).
It should be noted that we will be adding more and more items, races, weapons and… stuff(?) as time progress, so if you have a specific idea for your mini, look up our development schedule on our site!Last updated:
In Kickstarter you can only really select one pledge goal, but no worries. If none of the pledge levels are just right, pick the one closest to what you want, and you can adjust upwards later in our backer kit.Last updated:
Our current pricing point for a single mini is about MSRP 35$. The conditional marker base should add another 10$ on top of that. Oversized models will run you about 10$ extra.
We’re still looking into “bits” pricing and quantities, so that’s a big WIP right now.Last updated:
We're definitely going to offer STLs for download- it's a feature we'll be adding shortly after launch- not a huge deal to implement, it's just we're very focused on getting our system up and running first.Last updated:
Currently we have unlocked:
Aeth and half-Aeth (Elves)
Orcs and half-orcs
Animal-Kin will come in three waves.
The first wave, which we are trying to get to launch, are the races that we have gotten the most responses for: Cat folk, Bird folk (both the Raven and Eagle sybtypes), and the Turtle-people.
The second wave: Werewolves, Elephant-folk, Hippo people, Rhinos and the always lovable Minotaurs.
The third wave: Bugbears, Centaurs and <checks notes> frog people.Last updated:
We will have capes and cloaks! The boys tried to make an Incredibles joke, but we will DEFINITELY have capes for characters to wearLast updated:
All our minis come unpainted, but we are developing a feature that will allow you to connect to painters in your community.Last updated:
We're doing 34mm minis, on the standard 1 inch base. But remember- this just means the average height- you can go taller or shorter, smaller or bigger. It's a customization engine, after all!Last updated:
We ship worldwide, and if you ship to an affiliate store- we'll cover the cost of shipping. Just one more way we help stores!Last updated:
Those two tiers are similar in that you receive a completely personalized art commission of your character, done by our amazingly talented Ilya Salnikov.
The difference is that in the Dark Temple tier you get to design 1 item of your choosing (say, a unique flaming glaive). In the Arcane Gate- a whole set of items (1 armor set, 1 weapon).
It's pretty nifty :)Last updated:
We're printing using a photopolymer resin and wax supports, though we're experimenting with an ABS-like plastic resin (still on wax supports).
The ABS (plastic) is tougher, but only comes in a clear resin, which is... less than optimal. Our photopolymer is grey (that's what you see in the pictures above) or black.Last updated:
We ship for free to a local, affiliate game store in the US (we'll have a list of those up).
For non-US backers, we do add shipping (we've calculated about 10$ as a ballpark figure, final figures will be done at the BackerKit stage of things).
If you want us to add your local store- give us a note at email@example.com, so we can reach out to them and add them to our network!Last updated:

Drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org!
Just let us know the name of the store, its location, and (if possible) who we can talk to there!
We want to get as many stores on board by August (and beyond). It would be extra helpful for us if you tell the store owner about us, too!Last updated:
Our minis are 3d-printed on multijet printers, with wax supports. They print at 32 micron layer levels, and have no contact points, flash or mold lines.Last updated:
