'Husband & wife team Sammy & Kylie Horner AKA The Sweet Sorrows' have been playing and touring all over the planet for the past three years. They have performed in the USA, Canada, Thailand, Germany, UK, Ireland, Romania and Australia and are presently continuing a massive tour schedule across the USA and Europe for the remainder of the year. All of our recording projects so far have been self produced and the band have built a great following and loyal fan base. We felt it would be great to try to blend our favourite styles of music together in one album. We turned to our old mate, Nashville legend Phil Maderia, ( Emmy Lou Harris, The Civil Wars, Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Buddy Miller and more) to see if he would be available to help us make our best album to date and we were delighted that Phil jumped at the chance to help us produce something really unique and special. The album will be recorded in Wexford, Ireland and Nashville TN. USA using amazing musicians from both sides of the pond, ( we will let you know who will be playing soon!). The name 'Celticana' describes the fusion of Celtic & Americana music that we hope to bend on this project. We have some fantastic rewards on offer and we will be pushing the Kickstarter on our fall tour in the USA 2016. Our goal will help us get this album recorded and in these days of no record company financing, most independent artists depend on the support of their fanbase. We'd love it if you'd consider partnering with us to make something really special.
Risks and challenges
Our main obstacle is finding the time in The Sweet Sorrows touring schedule and Producer Phil Madeiras' commitments. Presently we are aiming to record in Wexford Ireland in April 2017 and the album being completed by summer 2017. The funding that comes for Kickstarter will only be enough to record the album, cover musicians , flights and mastering. All further costs such as manufacturing, promotional videos etc. will need to be met using our own finances that we make on tour.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
