The PowerzALL is a high-performance power adapter that transforms a power tool battery into a high-capacity portable charger.
It is equipped with total of 20 Watt power source (4Ah max) of two USB ports that are compatible with Apple, Android and all USB devices.
What is it used for? It's used as a very high capacity back up power source for phones and tablets during power outage and outdoor use.
2. How PowerzALL is better than other portable chargers?
Powerzall solves many of the most fundamental limitations of portable chargers.
Advantage #1: The PowerzALL uses power tool batteries that take only 30 - 60 minutes to fully recharge versus a typical power pack which may take 8 - 15 hours to fully recharge.
For example, the PowerzALL D20 (which fits on the Dewalt DCB 204 battery) can fully charge an iPhone 4 almost ten times, and yet the Dewalt DCB 204 battery takes only 60 minutes to fully recharge. Most other portable power packs need 8 - 15 hours to recharge; that's longer than the time needed to charge an electric car !
Advantage #2: The PowerzALL works with multiple interchangeable, high-capacity batteries, versus typical portable chargers that are limited by the capacity of the built-in battery. The PowerzALL’s ability to accommodate multiple batteries makes it virtually unlimited in capacity.
For example, one PowerzALL can fit the entire Dewalt DCB 20 Volt battery line.
Advantage #3, The PowerzALL is powerful:
It produces a whooping 20 Watt 4 Amp output capable of charging up to two iPads at the same time - other portable chargers produce less than a 3 Amp output, capable of charging only one iPhone or one iPad
Advantage #4: The PowerzALL simplifies and optimizes charging with any cable.
The PowerzALL has a special technology that automatically detects the type of device being charged and selects the optimized charging mode for that specific device without the need for special charging tips or connectors.
3.How does it

#4: PowerzALL B18 fits the Bosch Lithium-ion 18V battery
The PowerzALL housing can be quickly
attached to the top of the battery and easily removed.
The circuit board converts
the battery voltage source, typically between 16 - 22 volts, into a 5 volt DC
source for two USB outputs. Each of the
USB outputs is capable of supplying a maximum of 2.5 amps which is capable of
charging a wide range of devices including the iPhone, iPod, iPad, Android
phone and tablet, Kindle reader, cameras, camcorders.
The PowerzALL has a special
technology that automatically detects the type of device being charged and
selects the optimized charging mode for that specific device without the need
for special charging tips or connectors.
The PowerzALL circuit board has many built-in
features designed to protect it against short circuiting, overheating and
PowerzALL’s prototypes are 100%
functional requiring only a small amount of cosmetic design work to complete
and enhance its appeal understanding that the PowerzALL will be positioned as a high-end consumer product that the
owner will want to use everyday. Designed to maximize charging performance the
PowerzALL even exceeds many wall AC outlet chargers.
The high performance prototype
achieves more than 85% efficiency in converting a high voltage battery source
into 5 volt 4 amp output capable of charging two ten watt devices, or any combination of two
phones or tablets.
The PowerzALL delivers unparallel
performance and a rapid-charge time saving advantage that no other charger can.
Compatible USB Devices:
Apple: iPhone, iPad, iPod
Android: Samsung, Nexus, HTC, LG, Sony, Blackberry, Kindle, Nokia, MP3 music player
All Standard 5V/2.5A max USB devices.
The idea for the PowerzALL originated
as a DIY project to fill a personal need for which no other commercial product
existed.After the 2012 Superstorm Sandy
it became very apparent that my simple idea could really help millions of victims,
first responders and emergency personnel by keeping their vital communication
devices alive in an emergency situation.
experts believe that the increase in number and intensity of storms such as
Superstorm Sandy portend the coming era when millions of Americans will
regularly struggle to survive extreme weather.
2011 when Hurricane Irene left seven million people without power.
2012, Hurricane Sandy left an estimated eight million people without
power. More than sixty million people in the east coast were affected.
2013, some 650,000 homes in New England lost power as the result of hurricane-force wind gusts and
more than two feet of snow.
The millions of people affected by
just these few recent storms alone would benefit greatly from a portable, quick
and abundant power source for their critical mobile devices.
These powerful images have kept me motivated enough to bring to you the
PowerzALL. With your help, we will have
the best portable charger to prepare for the next storm and keep you and your
loved ones connected at the moment you need it most.
5. Our KickStarter goals
Our goal is raise a minimum of $60,000 to pay for final prototype testing and production tooling.
You as our valuable backer can choose to get one or both of the PowerzALL models.
6. Our progress
We've been iterating the PowerzALL
for more than six months. We obtained a
provisional patent and filing for a utility and design patent.
The design and prototype progress has
gone through three iterations. The
latest prototypes are ready for producing a small number of test units.
In design Iteration 1, we focused on
mechanical concept design; part selection and bench testing the selected parts.
In design Iteration 2, we made
prototype boards and 3D printed the case. We carried out a lot of functional
and performance tests on this first generation prototype.
In design Iteration 3, we applied the
lessons learned from Iteration 2 to enhanced the electronic to maximize
performance and redesign the mechanical housings.
After the successful Kickstarter campaign, we will go forward with the
injection molding production designs that are suitable for the large quantity
All engineering and testing work has
been performed by the engineers located in San Diego, CA. The current prototype has been thoroughly
tested re: load performance, high and low tolerance, functional performance and
basic environmental testing.
After the successful Kickstarter
campaign, we will produce more test units and perform extensive stress tests
including shake-and-bake, dust and moisture exposure, impact and electrostatic
tolerance, and more functional testing.
We will continuously monitor and test
throughout the production process. We
want the PowerzALL to consistently deliver the best quality and performance for
PowerzALL products will be proudly Made in the USA. As some may know, the injection
molding tooling process is the fairly expensive. As soon as our primary goal is met, we will
start the injection molding design.
Designing and producing precision
molds takes 6 - 8 weeks. Once the
tooling is done, we will begin test production and should be able to move to
full production by early of 2014. Our
production timeline looks like this:
·November 2013: Final
·December 2013: Produce a
limited number of units to test out the production design. We will distribute
some of these units to the backers to get early feedback.
·January/February 2014: Begin the
·March 2014: Injection
mold tooling complete and test production. We will distribute some of these
units to the backers to further improve the final product.
Finalize the production
and packaging design. Produce, assembly.
·May/Jun 2014:Product transfers from factory to fulfillment center for
labeling and shipping to your doors!
The end product will be fully
assembled and enclosed in a retail package. We will use a fulfillment center
