All players play as thieves who are pulling bills out of a (literal) wallet stuffed with cash. What none of them know, is any player may be an undercover cop, trying to catch a thief in the act.
In Pickpockets, players will take turns either drawing or manipulating money cards in a wallet until any player reveals themselves as an Undercover Cop, yelling “hands up”. All other players will reveal their cards. The Undercover Cop wins if at least one other player has two or more marked bills in their possession. Otherwise the Pickpocket with the most money wins. Alternatively a player can skip town if they have at least $100 in their possession.
Here's a quick video of Pickpockets in action during our regular Designer Diner meetup. Please ignore our mistakes, it was late and loud. :)
The game consists of 18 money cards and rules, so it's technically a "micro game". It will be packaged in a small vinyl wallet, an integral component in the gameplay and perfect for taking it on the go. It's pocket-sized, portable and protective... and has proven itself with or growing line of wallet games.
This version comes with the standard wallet game PLUS 10 plastic custom coins to track the winners PLUS a loot bag to carry it all around in. It also comes signed by both designers.
This will be the 10th(!!!) Button Shy Wallet Game, and the third of 2016. We have a new game coming each month in 2016. Each game has its own quirky thing going on. You can purchase these today at our website http://www.buttonshygames.com or you can pledge for a package deal here and save some money in return for having to wait 45-60 days for production.
Package Deal - $17 - Save $3: Pickpockets plus any one of the following games - Avignon: A Clash of Popes, Wild Cats, Cunning Folk, Smoke & Mirrors, Fever Chill, North South East Quest, Ninja: Silent But Deadly or a second copy of Pickpockets.
Package Deal -$25 - Save $5: Pickpockets plus any two of the following games - Avignon: A Clash of Popes, Wild Cats, Cunning Folk, Smoke & Mirrors, Fever Chill, North South East Quest, Ninja: Silent But Deadly or additional copies of Pickpockets. You can pick multiples of the same game.
We have a few really cool stretch goals planned, so stick around to see how far we get! (Art is not final).
You can print the game, even with the tiny amount of ink left in your printer. It's 2 pages and uses only black ink. You can even just print the whole thing in greyscale. The rules are another few pages, and you can get by without even printing them out and just viewing them online.

International shipping is expensive and we apologize. We aren't in the position to pretend like it doesn't exist, or absorb it into the pledges as bigger companies can do. USPS international shipping just went up last month. The biggest hit was small items - this is exactly what we sell :( - and under 1 lb international went up over $5 on average. Unfortunately with small games, international shipping can often exceed the cost of the game.
We know it's an issue and it's just something we have to deal with and a constant struggle. To make this a little bit easier on our international supporters we offer the following options:
- A full color, full art PNP for just $3. This will come with all stretch goals.
- Package Deals. International shipping on one Wallet Game is $14 ($22 shipped), but on two or three games it costs $16. Three games will cost $41 shipped, a considerable amount of savings per game.
This is the best we can do at this point and we hope one of those options works for you. You will see these after you click pledge, but here are the shipping costs per pledge level:
ONE GAME: US - $2, CAN - $10, INT - $14
TWO GAMES: US - $3, CAN - $12, INT - $16
THREE GAMES: US - $3, CAN - $12, INT - $16
DELUXE EDITION: US - $3, CAN - $10, INT - $14
Risks and challenges
We've done our homework and have as much ready as possible before even launching the Kickstarter, but there are always challenges once it's completed. There may be factory delays or errors, which can cause delays for fulfillment. We've had this issue previously and managed to turn it into a positive thing by providing extra content in the final version of the product.
All of our previous projects have been fulfilled as close as possible to the intended date. Our last projects are on track to be on time as well.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
