Movie Plotz is a wild game that allows your group to create hilarious fake movie story lines, then pitch them out loud for maximum laughs. It is designed to be the ultimate social game, party game and ice-breaker game. Sessions can last anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour, depending on your group's needs. If you have gaming group, a group of family and friends, or some co-workers looking for fun during their free time, the game is a hilarious stress reliever and conversation starter. Try Movie Plotz with hardcore gamers, improv comedians or children of any age and be amazed by the results.
Alex Strang has worked in the film development business for years, and brings that instinct and knowledge to the game table for a really unique experience where everyone gets involved. You may find the twists within the game are funny, but frighteningly close to the real world of Hollywood development! You never know…your next crazy plot line may become the next blockbuster!
The game consists of 12 cards and packaged in a plastic sleeve, but if you are interested in a little more protection while on the go, we're offering a Travel Edition for just $10. It's portable and durable and our answer to the issue of how to package a micro game
Players begin with a simple plot (a simple sentence) then draw cards to modify the movie concept. With each draw, players get to redo the pitch and make it even more exciting. In the end, the final plot will be a guaranteed hit!
ADDITIONAL GAMES / MODES
Alex has been hard at work making LOTS of variations on Movie Plotz. There's a 2 player "Gotcha Game" where players must force cards on their opponent, a team "Combo Pitch" where teams huddle up and hone their pitch before presenting it in a head-to-head battle of scripts, a "Classroom Edition" where a student starts the movie and passes it on, and many more.
The Behind The Scenes book will be available for free as a PDF, and a physical version comes with the $25 pledge level.

WHY DID I CHOOSE MOVIE PLOTZ?
I've been a big fan of the game for a good few years now, as there is so much fun with just 12 little cards and a few creative players. I wrote a recap of Metatopia 2012 at FruitlessPursuits.com, and will share it below.
I closed my Metatopia experience with a few sessions of Alex Strang's 15 card creative party game Movie Plotz.
Express your Inner Hollywood Producer and create hilarious blockbuster movie plotlines with this fun brainstorming game that puts players in the screenwriter's seat!
Movie Plotz teaches practical (and fun!) brainstorming techniques that can be applied to any creative development exercise. The game mixes storytelling skills with out-of-the-box thinking to help players make up the most outlandish (and possibly believable) big screen plots ever!
Now I've played Movie Plotz before, but this was pretty epic. We had 10 people all packed around a big table, late Saturday night. We had all seen better days, as we've just been through about 30 hours of gaming (with a few hours of sleep somewhere in the middle. I had 3 hours total.) And of course, those delirious times bring out the best in creative gaming.
In Movie Plotz, each player will add to an existing storyline started by the first player. Their addition will be sparked by the card that they draw ("Add a soap opera twist", "Make the story more action-packed"). It usually turns into ridiculousness by the 3rd round. We were playing a 12 card round, so the plot thickened, thinned out, twisted around, and by the end it was pretty much insanity. I could recap the stories that we made up here, but it's more of one of those experiences where you just had to be there, with the right people, and in the right mindset.
I will let the photos speak for themselves.

Risks and challenges
Any creative production has risks and ours are just like everyone else's. We need to first reach funding, then complete all of the final art and graphic design, have the cards printed and delivered to you. Within each of these areas there can be snags and hiccups and thankfully we have many professional and seasoned friends and family members that have offered to lend their hand and expertise in getting us off of the ground and getting us through any hurdles.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
